Well to be honest i see no way a blasterthron could beat a good raven ...

Well you need good tanking if you don't wanna die in 3 volleys ...
I did some testing with my corpmate who has a pretty good raven setup and he always kills my shield down in the first volley.
The problem is that tanking on a blasterthron is very difficult, you need good skills, both character and player based.

Well, how did you know that ? 
I have a blasterthron myself and i know it can dish out more damage than any other ship in the game. However, it's tanking is so limited that you die in seconds when focused by 2 or more damage-fitted BS. Yes you should know that Clipped Wings ;) I didn't even bother trying to defend myself as i saw my armor tear apart in 10 seconds.
