I always die from these things. What's more annoying I can't think of a ship to deal with one. Vs all the other HACs this one seems to easily deal with them. Deimos is far too slow and needs to get close, it won't even land a hit. Zealot the same I'm guessing.
I thought about using a curse to kill it's cap but I'm sure their fit will have a cap booster....So what one earth combats this thing? It seems a bit overpowered in comparison to similar ship classes.
I'm even struggling to think of a t3 setup that would come out on top. Any ideas?

Edited by: Boldor Aran on 09/07/2009 13:04:01 Fair enough. But I'd be using vaga if I was Minmatar. I have HAC in gallente and Amarr, isn't there a way those races can combat it?

I wouldnt be surprised of vaga beats huginn due to its higher dps.
Vaga is very hard to catch, so hard to destroy. But its dps is far from impressive.

Ahh good. I'm training recon ships anyway.
Though of course it will probably just see me on scan and not come near me with it's uber speed.

A sac will make the vaga pilot scream like a little girl and run away, but you won't kill him... However, you might want to consider a few things, first of all; I now have one of those annoying sigs. second; you should probably move on to some more interesting things than reading this sig.

Zealot with FMP IIs and a 1600mm plate will send him packing but probably wont kill it, you need either a Lachesis/Arazu or some suicidal inty pilots using scrams to properly catch it. -

I've seen a vagabond being shot at be a rapier and 2 battleships manage to take the rapier down before it died (before the web nerf as well), actually i think i was piloting it, i can't remember though might have been my mate.
So anyway, if a vagabond can survive that and still kill a rapier, it can probably kill a huginn. This is if it can get close enough to the rapier before being webbed to hell. ------

Ok lets go with Curse as it's the least amount of training time.
Assuming the Vaga pilot it a bit dim and engages me. I can wipe his cap in one go (will check eft later).
In which case I'll have to WMD towards him, throw the drones (mediums?) and get him in a web result = vagabones?

T2 sentries was a long train but as far as I am concerned the best 30 days of training time I spent in my eve career. Omni make them even better. I actually changed around my standard ishtar fit just so I could fit one.

If you are cycling you neuts correctly I don't think you even have to web him. Just stay in disruptor range and let your drones eat him.

Vaga wont go near a curse, ever, period. Best ship with amarr is a the sac, which just plays the waiting game until it get tackle. ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |

If you want to actually pop Vaga you'd need to actually:
1) Make him engage(so it's either idiot Vaga engaging Curse/Sac/whatever or some innocently-enough looking ship for you) 2) Be able to bring him down 3) Be able not to let him disengage
So you either fly some hilarious stuff like Caracal with TDs/web/scram or bring something(like shuttle?) into gang and use Interdiction gangmodded BC.
That said, there're quite a lot of idiots, though amount of them flying Vaga specifically have decreased since nanonerf :)

Scaring off a vaga is easy. The hard part is actually killing him. You'd probably need an arazu and/or rapier to actually get the kill. Or find an idiotic vaga who engages curses. A gank harb or zealot might be able to do it if you overheat everything.

Anything to deal with a vaga? Think outside of HACs (even though huginn, rapier do the job)
Assault frigs, interceptors. Don't be so narrowminded. Anything with speed will always evade you in 1v1. Think gang warfare.

How about a t1/named fit Arbitrator with 2 tracking disruptors, and light drones?
means the vagabonds guns won't do anything, and you kill his light drones with yours.
Occasionally, they will become enraged at their inability to kill a cheapskate t1 cruiser in their multimillion isk ship, causing them to be blind to a couple of your friends arriving, with webs and stuff.
For added hilarity, your friends can also fly t1 cruisers/frigates.

What vagabond doesn't carry a medium neut for precisely this reason?
Killing vagas is hard, I recommend gallente recon + anything with good reliable DPS. Or a curse, but I (like most other ships) avoid Curses like the plague. __________________________________
