Edited by: Victoria Akmea on 13/07/2009 03:49:36 I agree with a previous statement about a frigate with an AB and a tractor for a can. Far more effective.
And I must say this about the OP. Good Job, Troll!

Edited by: Albahaca on 13/07/2009 04:15:50 i agree, you're nuts. with wayyy too much isk, you should give some to me =). it would go to a better place, like the pocket of some scammer
Originally by: Niclas Solo lol Try bc with mwd, double speed, double cargo and you only look half as stupid when you salvage.
did i mention that i think you're nuts? seriously, if the isk is burning that big of a hole in ur pod u should give it to me
i salvage lvl 4's with a Hurricane
high: 2x salvage II 6x tractor beam
Med: 100mn MWD II 1x large cap battery II 2x cap recharger II
Low: 6x cargo expander II
rigs: 3x salvage tackle I
this ship is probably less than 1/32 (i dont want to even try to do the math, it's just ridonculous) the price of your... interesting t3 cruiser and has a top speed of 1814m/s (or something with my navigation skills that aren't maxed) with a cargo capacity of 2040m3, ftw.
*redonc is like ridiculous x42 (because the answer to life and everything is 42)
this cane is by far the best salvager iv ever had.

Interesting concept if you don't have a marauder working to ball up the wrecks. Paying arms & legs to get that 40km tractor/1000ms, but if it works, why not
I think the Proteus does it a bit better.
Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II 10MN Afterburner II Sensor Booster II
Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I
Salvage Tackle I Salvage Tackle I Cargohold Optimization I
Proteus Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Proteus Defensive - Adaptive Augmenter Proteus Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir Proteus Offensive - Drone Synthesis Projector Proteus Propulsion - Localized Injectors
1581m3 cargo (2031m3 total if you fit a huge secure container) 40km tractor/1000ms (at max skill) 55% access difficulty bonus (a bit better than normal Hurricane with T1 Salvager and 3x Tackle rigs) 1080ms MWD / 409ms AB (at max skill) dual purpose lazy fit 20% better base sensor lock time vs Hurricane 25% better agility
Just keep away from talking about the price

Hey, the Legion is crap compared to all the other t3 ships. Maybe this is the one thing it kicks all the other t3 ships asses at. Maybe CCCP intended it this way... ============================================= "Only the dead have seen the end of war" - Plato

Using the same approach for the Legion gives the following setup:
[Legion, Salvager cargo] Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II
10MN Afterburner II 10MN MicroWarpdrive II Sensor Booster II
Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Auto Targeting System II
Salvage Tackle II Cargohold Optimization II Cargohold Optimization II
Legion Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Legion Defensive - Augmented Plating Legion Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir Legion Offensive - Assault Optimization Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
With the rigs soon available for 1/5th the current cost it's no reason not to go T2 for cruiser sized ships.
The above config gives 2100m3 cargo, 500m/s.
However I will most likely go for this:
[Legion, Salvager] Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II
10MN Afterburner II 10MN MicroWarpdrive II Sensor Booster II
Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I
Salvage Tackle II Cargohold Optimization II Cargohold Optimization II
Legion Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Legion Defensive - Adaptive Augmenter Legion Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir Legion Offensive - Assault Optimization Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

Yeah I would prefer the proteus over the legion for salvaging for t3 anyway. Reason being you can more dps out of a proteus with drones than the legion. Oh and btw all you peeps screaming "omg use a cruiser, frig, bc" etc just quit, I've seen ppl mine in titans k.

That won't fit a huge secure container, you lose 450m3. Your max target is 5, you have 8 highs. That won't work. Like it or not, you need an auto-targeter.
Your former Legion build is a little better with 7 highs and enough cargo space for a huge secure container. In fact, in edges over the Proteus by just a wee bit, all things being equal.

Good point, a new revision:
[Legion, Salvager v4] Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II Signal Amplifier II
10MN Afterburner II 10MN MicroWarpdrive II Sensor Booster II
Salvager II Salvager II Salvager II Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I Small Tractor Beam I
Cargohold Optimization II Cargohold Optimization II Salvage Tackle II
Legion Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Legion Defensive - Augmented Plating Legion Engineering - Power Core Multiplier Legion Offensive - Assault Optimization Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
1650m3 cargo (2100m3 with huge can), 7 targets.

Edited by: Glarion Garnier on 13/07/2009 20:23:13 Edited by: Glarion Garnier on 13/07/2009 20:22:50 All you ppl bashing this thread are missing the point. In mission running ... the cost of the ship is some what irrelevant. The maximum room clearance performance is paramount.
Untill you figure that out go rub your face with cold water or something. Efficiency is key. The more you make per minute.. the more you have at the end of the day
you should check the documentary Corporation. It shows IRL every phase of the process of making a t-shirt for instance is timed to the millisecond in companies like NIKE.

I'm telling you that setup is horridly ineffecient compared to a T1 frig or inty towing a can. It will clear salvage and loot at least twice as fast as that setup for 1/1000th the cost.
Don't believe me? Let me know what system you mission from. I'll be sure to see that we race for salvage soon.

Perfect. Looks like the Legion holds the crown for a 40km/1000ms tractor non-marauder salvage ship then.

With people having 100s of billions of isk, 1-2 billion on a t3 salvage ship isnt as dumb as it sounds.

Didn't I mention not to talk about the price? Besides, it'll work fine on low skill CNR/Domi/Apo mission runners itching for 40km tractors but isn't quite at the marauder level. |
