Edited by: Sacre Dieu on 09/07/2009 22:34:39 Edit: Sorry, this initially started out on a 'where should I go with my skills now' but as I wrote it, it expanded.. haha.. feel free to move it to the appropriate section, mods.

Heya,
Took a break for quite a while due to a new job and a new girlfriend. Things have settled down a bit (and are going quite well) but I want to get back into Eve.
Unfortunately I work 60+ hours a week, and like to have time to spend with my girlfriend as well, of course...
So I'm sort of interested in something that I can kind of pop in and out of, spend an hour on, and log off. My time in 0.0 showed that it won't work well.. as most ops (even small gang ones) extended well beyond 15-20 minutes JUST in one way travel time.
Lowsec piracy was slightly better, but it is still VERY sporadic and often included hours of roaming.
High sec empire wars look interesting and might be fast enough to get some action in an hour or two, but I have -10 sec, haha, so I'm not going to get back up into highsec any time soon. :( And I don't want to start over a new character, some of the stuff like Cruiser V / AWD IV / BC V / Med Proj Spec and such took quite a while.
I have thought about going back to my Rapier and soloing in hostile 0.0, picking off ratters and such, not returning for a week or two at a time, but the mechanics have changed a bit since I last played - Webs are less effective, scrams kill MWD, etc... so I'd need to research that and find out if it's still effective at all.
Any suggestions?
Note: I am NOT interested in PvE. It's not worth my time to farm missions, when I can just sell timecards with the money I make in one hour and fund numerous adventures. ;) I wouldn't do it, but I spend so much time working/with my gf that I don't want to waste it idly farming... |

60+ hours a week? Are you a slave? DAMN!
I really don't think there's a lot you can do within 1 hour (maybe solo roaming in a recon as you mentioned yourself, probably not the rapier though)
My advice: Cut back on work, cut down your girlfriend or cut off EVE

Edited by: Drykor on 11/07/2009 11:14:13 Faction Warfare, definitely. Never had such a plenty amount of targets instantly available with no traveling. Just don't join Caldari, they have way too many people so I doubt it would work the same for them.
Edit: to actually add something to the skills question as well: train for a decent sniper, be it a HAC or battleship. That always allows you to take 15 mins to snipe at a gate and play some tricks with wartargets.

Loki, cov ops SS, sneaky pirate stuff and take bigger ships than in a rapier.
Although I don't condone piracy anymore I do understand that in certain forms it is another type of the art we call PvP.
