Huge lols not long ago. I don't understand the crazy nature of SOME of these kinds of people. A guy in my then current corp was going absolutely HAYWIRE forcing people to go into an alliance op. If you weren't in fleet you were brutally insulted, massed eve mailed and convoed untill you explained rarther pointlessly why you weren't on the op. The whole slanging match lasted about an hour and a half as this nutcase attempted to bully every single corpmate untill they got into a 0.0 op. Regardless to any details such as recently cloned jumped into expensive implants many jumps away. Regardless to caring about if they had a scout to safely get into deep 0.0.
The abusive was so bad I can't even suggest it on the forums lol. The most light abused was constant GET IN ******* FLEET, GET ON TEAM SPEAK YOU BABY, YOUR ALLIANCE NEEDS YOU WTF ARE YOU DOING, IF YOU DONT FLEET UP NOW YOU'RE OUT THE CORP YOU **** most of this was directed at new recruits who hadn't got their ships into 0.0 yet after being in the corp for mere days. It was repeated over and over and over again for hours.
I'm convinced some people are going to leave because that nutcase. Seriously though, I love this game but treating peolpe like thier some kind of servant is insane. People like this need therapy.
Anyone else has insane CEOs/alliance peeps?

Edited by: iP0D on 10/07/2009 15:49:11 0.0 = CTA
Simple. Don't like it? Well, join Xetic or Hydra.
Farming ISK you do in empire, pays better anyway.
Your alliance leader shouldn't have to go emo however, just kick the people not in fleet on the spot. Right there and then, as an added bonus that gives some nice targets with fat loot on the way to the battlefield.

Same as in real life. To get results. People can do what they want in Hello Kitty Online. Especially in 0.0 where the stakes are high the focus needs to be as high, and that means taking everything on, face value, as a well oiled machine with a working and efficient hierarchy.
When the job is done there is private time. Simple as that.
Shocking, but most people seem to thoroughly enjoy cause it gets them fights.

No one was ratting/mining at the time. It was a case of new members getting blugeoned. We all of course want to fight, but there's asking you to participate reasonably and there's behaving like a total insulting loonatic lol and not respecting people moving thier ships etc.
Yeah sure it's 0.0 and you have to hold spac etc but at the time that wasn't really under any threat at all. People should be encouraged to get in CTA imo not beaten and insulted, that's not good management lol. But of course they know what they sign up for in a 0.0 corp in that you're expected to fight. But expecting someone to be online at some ungodly hour to do what they want or get insulted is im sorry to say.......psychotic imo. The arguement wasn't directed at me btw I was just thinking how sad the person must be in real life. Then again he the man in question NEVER EVER SLEPT, EVER, PERIOD.

CEOs of Corps in alliance have the power to set 100% taxes, thats all the bullying thats needed really.
After that, I can recommend you join a different alliance / corp. Your experience is not the 'norm'.
Other's have already pointed out that you are in an Alliance / Corp as a contributor. Those that want to do their 'own thing' should be in their 'own corp'.
Don't stand by and get bullied, thats just as weak as crying to mummy when a bully steals your lunch money. Do something about it ;-)
Oh and last point, to have the 'DRIVE' to 'PUSH' out into 0.0, you need some sort of 'EGO' or people won't follow. I have a ton of respect for every CEO and Alliance leader I have ever flown under.
They totally 'get' inspiring people to 'go fight' right without the "I'm an attention *****, look at me" mentality you appear to be describing :-)
If you can't find a decent alliance to fly with, check my employment history. No duds in there.

After similar behavior in two previous well known (at the time) alliances a few years ago, both my 5 year accounts left null space/alliance life and all that drama over two years ago and havent looked back. A lot of people speculate on these boards why a lot of people wont do 0.0, for me, thats it right there, corp/alliance politics and drama. I am way too old and intolerant to put up with that crap from snot nosed emo freaks like this. In real life these people wouldnt dare speak to me like that, i wont deal with it in a damn game either.
Nullspace and all the entitys that go along with it can all kiss my now carebear ass.

This. I'm more than willing to die fighting for the corp and my friends but if someone has the gall to start shouting at me and presuming they know better than me how to use my ship then I'll just tell them where to stick it and quit the corp, I don't need that in a game.

Pretty much my opinion too. When people start yelling and saying a CTA is forced, I stop logging in. When I have a choice, I login casually and end up killing more than with CTAs.
However, CTAs can be needed. Just don't make them happen every day, or even ever weekend.

It is the job (among many things) of the leadership of a given entity to inspire its members to pull in the same direction. To the extent that it has/can not, it will fail. If members are being cajoled to do things they don't want to do, that entity is on the road to failure. It has attracted the wrong sort of membership to accomplish its aims.
By the same token, it is incumbent upon members of a given entity to provide a level of service to their organizations and to follow their principles/rules of operation. If they can't be bothered to do that, they should consider taking up residence somewhere else or at least expect the governing body of their entity to make that choice for them.
So yeah, I don't think "crazy" leaders should be freaking out on their membership in the way the OP describes. If they feel that strongly about it, they should encourage them to move on in some way, not constantly harrass/cajol.
On the surface, the leader you describe seems to be the kind that likes to bark orders but do little to actually facilitate and inspire the behaviors he's looking for from his members.
