Ok, i looked briefly, and couldnt find this information, so i'll start another thread on it:
When scanning with combat probes, I was able to get a ship scanned out with a 100% signal strength hit (after like 30 minutes, see next question). But I still couldnt warp to it. What was I doing wrong?
Also, as i said above, it takes me FOREVER to scan something up to 100% signal strength. I obviously must not be doing something right. Is there a good guide that tells how to effectively us the scan probes since the last changes were made to the scaning system?

1. To get a green dot on a target (so you can warp to it), you need 100% signal and 4 probes.

Thanks a lot for the link to the guide, thats what i was looking for.
But on the getting green dot to warp to, i was using 5 probes, and i did have a 100% strength, but still couldnt warp to the ship

The game rounds up so you may have had 99.85% or something which is not warpable. Also, although I have never used a combat probe only the core probe, you should really only take about 5-10 minutes at most, so hopefully that guide will help you out.

to start use lunch 5 probs move them in to a + formation with them overlapping in the middle. scan . move the middle of you probs to the dot you are scanning. shrink them and re overlap. repeat
a good scanner can scan ships ,wh and whatever in 2-3 min

I watched it and now i am scanning very well.
As for the 100% and no warp thing, i have no idea.
