My post has nothing to do with the stupid inventory directory panel that can be hidden. I'm going to wait before complaining about that one.
Here's the what and the why regarding the new being broken, as I see it.
First, the Settings options for these do not function at all.
http://i.imgur.com/61VQM.png
As an example...
http://i.imgur.com/3PjFh.jpg
I have my cargo open constantly. With every ship, everywhere, I always have my cargo open at the bottom right. Yesterday, all I'd have to do is click the button to open a wreck and my ship would fly over and open the wreck. The wreck would appear in the PINNED location it's always been in. Now, it overwrites my Cargo window unless I hold the shift key.
As a side note, if I hold shift while clicking the open-wreck button and then let go and my ship needs to approach before the loot window opens, my cargo window is STILL overwritten even though I used the shift key. This means I'll have to approach and THEN hold shift and THEN click the ****ing button to open the wreck.
Moving on, if I open anything -literally anything- without holding the shift key, the new container gets merged with my cargo window and I can't stop that from happening without holding the shift button every god**** ****ing time.
I cannot politely convey how frustratingly irritating this is.
Please fix it. For the love of god, PLEASE fix this... |

You aren't paying attention. I specifically stated that I'm not complaining about or referring to the directory pane. Not sure if stupid or just trolling. |

Burseg Sardaukar wrote:i love the new inventory system, but I don't understand why the buttons would be removed that would basically be hotlinks to the proper page in your unified inventory.
Too many people are blowing this out of proportion, though. It's not hard to get used to, and its actually much more useful than 10 ******* windows open trying to remember what is what.
For those of us who have ample brain capacity, it is easily possible to keep track of what things are. Especially when they're labeled.
Just because you don't play the game the same way we do doesn't mean our method isn't valid or important or worth defending. |

Can someone explain this better than I ??
CCP: you have driven ALL to frustration and confusion about what is even what.
I don't understand why you're even bothering to reply to my messages. You're obviously trolling. |

That's an excellent pair of ideas. |

That's an idiotic response. Really it is.
The truth is that if you're not going to focus on the point of this thread, don't post. Don't insult each other, don't argue with each other. Trying to get Eve players to unify and cooperate is like herding cats, but we can do it. Stop thread crapping. |

Balder Verdandi wrote:This inventory system is the most horrible part of the patch.
Mining operations: If you've ever held a mining op with jet-cans pulled by a Rorqual or Orca, or dumping directly into the cargo bay on an Orca, or dumping from an Orca into a Rorqual, where they were once easy, are now incredibly painful. You really need multiple windows for doing these operations and its obvious that whomever came up with this design hasn't spent hours in a belt or mining out the ABC's of an anom.
Looting wrecks: This should be super easy with two clicks (open cargo, loot all button) but it's now just madness. I don't want to open an inventory control system (and wait for it to load) while looting wrecks. All I need to see is the cargo hold of the wreck that I'm looting, not everything I have in system. This not only applies to belt ratting, but running a Noctis through a plex to get all the goodies and T2 salvage. And no, I don't want to fill my screen with stuff I don't need to see while running a salvage op.
Corp Hangars: Moving things like blueprints in/out of a corp hangar to use the corp lab are painful. There is no reason why I need to open my entire inventory, then open (shift+click) on the corp hangar, then open (another shift+click) the container with my blueprints, and then struggle with now open containers/corp hangar that will reset their size every session change because they are now hidden behind a single massive inventory control panel.
Session Resets: When I open my cargo hold, drone bay, station container, anchored container, Corp Hangar, or my friend's corp bay in his Orca, I don't want to deal with resizing it every single time I need to open it. I have different sizes for each based on what action each item provides me, whether its dumping ammo into my hold, adding/removing drones, or just trying to keep track of minerals or blueprints. I don't want to open something and watch it fill my screen.
The total lack of functionality makes it insane to use ...... and I haven't even covered moon mining/silos, POS refueling, corporate labs (picking up BPC's), etc. ......
Clearly, the people coding this game are not people who actually play it. |

You aren't paying attention and you certainly haven't bothered to read this thread where people like me have included screenshots to very clearly and concisely describe the problems we have with the new inventory system.
We took the time to post in this thread. If nothing else, you owe it to us to actually read the ****ing thread. |

Yeah, I can see how taking away someone's ability to feed their family is totally the appropriate restitution for your inconvenience in a video game. Oh wait. No, that attitude is actually completely ********. MY BAD.
The point is that a business should not make decisions that will alienate customers. It's a poor business choice and if enough customers leave because of that business choice then the business dies and EVERYONE is out of work.

YES it is. Ignoring all the feedback on the Sisi Forum about it after their call for professionalism for all CCP after the FanfestFiasco. That ignoring is utterly unprofessional. CCP will seemingly NEVER get out of the "10 guys in an Attic" Phase. It's over for me regardless.
Your wallet is the only vote they care about. Yes, voice your opinion, but if the changes they make are enough to remove or negate the entertainment value of the game, the only opinion they're really going to pay attention to is your refusal to continue rewarding them for their work. |

So maybe this is CCP's fualt in the translation of things with thier "LETS REINVENT THE WHEEL" idiology .... like i said earlier i've been around for 6+ years Seeing all the FAIL's coming out of CCP with only a few WIN's is a severe disappointment ....
STAPLES MADE IT EASY WHY CAN"T CCP!!!! I think it's less about "Lets reinvent the wheel" and more about "Lets put some rubber on those wheels to make using them less painful."
I think it has a lot more to do with pressure to add or change things to prevent the game from feeling stale. In a desperate effort to add life to the game, they ignored the feedback of their customers and charged on ahead with an infuriating update that makes playing the game more aggravating. Additionally, they didn't fix the things that really COULD use an update, like the assets window.
Seriously, who the hell goes through a massive inventory change, chooses an incredibly short-sighted design, and then doesn't even update the Assets window --which actually WOULD work really well with this short-sighted design anyway?

That will obviously never happen.
The only hope we have is that they fix the problems with new creation to make it work with the players the way the players want or need it to function. |
