Too easy to lose ??? .. what the hell is the matter with you ?:) I would say its to hard to lose
I dont know with you guys but im quite tired of carebear pirates... People that pirates in 0.4 - 0.1 and then go kill loads of rats somewhere .. to keep their standing above -5.0 so they cant get attacked by other pirates near sentries .. (Or atleast only get attacked if the attacker is sentry tanked) and if that's ever gonna happen they tend to run instead of taking up the fight.. If i could deside you should be -10 for the first bloody pod you kill and then deal with it..
You proud of your secure standing ? Eh ? why the hell do you wanna be proud of that .. only thing its telling is if you're allowed in 0.5 or above
If you want something to be proud of work on your rep instead and get a cool one .. fight great instead of being known as a miner killer which is the only thing the secure standing is telling...
And yes pirates tend to kill lots of miners and that's why they aint allowed in 0.5 or above .. that's only fair in my ears if a n00b go went and killed a few carebears and got him a bad standing .. well .. let him deal with that .. cause afterall he is gonna live with that, atleast give him -5.0 so other pirates can attack him too and perhaps learn him a thing or two..
I know from my own experience that each time i've been ganked i've learned quite alot about what NOT to do... but running like a kid from a fight you asked for you self is just lame..
And if you do it to save your ship ? .. Get a insurance ? And if you do it to save your equiment cause its so expensive ? .. why the hell are you using named stuff as pirate or pvp'er if you cant even aford to lose it .. get a nice gank or a nice fight out of it instead .. if they are gonna win .. nice for them, if you are gonna win .. great doing from your side..
Am sorry got all mad cause of those 'runners' :P wanna chat about that convo me ingame :P
Anyway .. you want honor from your secure standing ? .. well .. your point of honor might be alot diffent than mine but i dont think its so much honor in ganking miners and kill their pods .. its great fun though .. but honor .. not really ... and i gotta admit i havn't seen a single (sorry well .. atleast 1) pirate that had a nice chat with their attacker / prey after a match .. either the pirate or the prey is whining .. but i guess that's just the way it has to be...
And that was my opoinen .. feel free to flame me but do it ingame instead will ya ?:) ------------------------------ My doctor have tried to tell me serveral times that eve isn't the real world... Poor dude, and people say i need to see a doctor ? |

yup, works a treat, your average or new player tho is basically left with a useless character restricted to space he cant survive in, when i first started i was fearfull of 0.4 space and under, corp mates warned me pirates would and could easily attack/kill there, and with the sec raise they had to wait a fair few days to gain sec, but at least they gained it.
When it came my turn to be able to hit them back, sec gains vanished, meaning pirates dont gain sec, however people that kill pirates also lose it, it also killed of a ton of 0.4 - 0.1 sec pirate groups. Current newbie pirates arent much to fear, in fact their a pointless profession unless as stated your able to solo armour tank npc bs's all day. __________________________________________

I agree, it takes like thousands of missions (yes, some players actually can't be bothered or don't have access to battleships for regular 0.0 hunts) to get something like 0.3, and if you attack a player who is going after your buddies you bazooka down to 0.0 again. ---

I think that it should stay as it is to get it back (see issues otherwise) but harder to loose it, to keep it real or get it real once again.

The only problem i see in being an outlaw is that your very limited in traveling, if they would just implant some timer that would allow -5.0 or more to travle trough lets say 0.5 sytems, so if you enter a .5 system you get a warning wich tells you that you have to leave the system in 10min or concord will come for you.
I spoke to a lot of people who are outlaw and kill in low-sec space, and they all use alts to move their ships trough the .5 systems. This is very stupid imo.. you have to make an alt to make yourselfe more mobile?? ---

hey im still only at -8.7, too bad i will never be able to do agents missions now
Run missions for a pirate faction. Also looks way cooler on your profile then working for Lai Dai or some Faction Navy
Originally by: DJTheBaron so why should high sec players be above the law for a few podkills until their at a minus again, and why should pirates be able to instandly redeem themselves from scumbags to saints?
Because Concord should be happy to see the amount of pirates decrease? They themselves have been whining about pirate invasions and most wanted pirate lists. Concord should either deal with it or stfu...
Originally by: DJTheBaron There really is only one soloution, everyone bvecome a scumbag, and lets invade empire and abolish concord once and for all. And let the faction standings and navys decide whos fair game, and whos above the law.

Dont know if where referring to me, but anyway i dont think its hard to pirate at all.. i just think its STUPID you need to train an alt to move your ships trough those .5 systems.
I mean its not like we can shoot anything in .5 anyway becouse then concord will show up.. at least let the outlaws be able to travle trough .5 ---

Losing sec status should be like gaining sec status. You should take the highest loss over a 15 minute period. When you rat hunt you take the highest gain, it should be the same way on the ebil side. |

The word you want is inconvienced, not stupid . Its inconvient for you to move your ships after you have chosen to gank someone.
Maybe have a "pirate mover" button on your neo-com, just press it and jump to any station you want, no more having to run blockades, fight people or face retribution for your deed, eh? Just free to gank in empire ans whine about its sooo hard to get my sec up, i can't move my ships...

I like how people say "It takes me TWO DAYS to get my sec rating back up again"...
Do you have a job? Do you work or have school? Know people in the REAL WORLD? A lot of us can't sit in front of a PC for 4+ hours a day and have typical day-to-day lives.
IMHO the sec rating system still needs more ways to have someone IMPROVE their standings. EVE-I.com~THE Info source |

As this seems to be going off topic a little, I don't mind sharing this. There are alot of noobs/former carebears who think that is it 'cool' to have a negative sec status. Case in point, I was in .9 space when a noob ship targeted me and started firing. This was a player who had been around for 5 or 6 months, I forget his name now. I found this to be amusing at best. He, of course, got blown up. I started a convo with him and asked what he was doing (while laughing of course).
He said he wanted to be a pirate and was going for a high negative sec status, and asked if I could stay there so he could keep shooting me every time he came out of the station. I said he should just get a frig and kill miners in .4 and below. His response was that he wanted to get the high neg sec status first so people would be afraid of him.
It was all very sad, and I think this guy was 'special'. I agree with the first post that it should take alot of work to get a low sec status. It used to be a status symbol, but now you can drop it in no time.
His sec status was already negative, so he obviously not doing it to get a ransom put on him. In Eve, as in the real world, there are idiots everywhere. I just hope he was drinking at the time.
As for the other discussions, you can easily get your sec status raised 1.0 a day fighting npc spawns in 0.0 solo, or with friends.

Spending an entire day killing NPCS in 0.0 is not a viable solution when it takes only 4 player kills to wipe out that entires days sec gains. I don't play Eve to kill NPCS.
Yes I could go to 0.0 and PvP there but having already tried that its quite impossible to operate without support and because of my reputation and line of work no decent corp will take me in. I'm forced to solo much of my time.
I agree with you on the sec loss, it should be much slower and the gains should be much faster and/or agents should be reintroduced.
