I started playing, and within 5 mins was being attacked by random players who I proceeded to beat off me.
Went to go quest, couldnt find any mobs even in the areas they were supposed to be, logged off.
came on next day, mobs were available, killed what i needed, then on my way back to a capital I get attacked by a higher level mage and die.
come back and all my stuff (everything drops when you die) has been taken. I know for a fact it had no value, just the individual is trying to make everyones lives harder.
Darkfall is a griefers paradise when not even capital (where level 1s start) is a safe haven.
I will keep playing, the idea of this level of 'hardcore pvp' is nice, but if it begins to feel like a grind compounded by annoying players ill drop it like its hot.

ok on second thought this game is a bit too hardcore. the pvp starts the second you leave town which you have nothing to your name except a basic sword.
it would be like if you undocked in a noobship and everywhere was 0.1 and any player could kill you at will with only a small penalty.

if u are alfar u can grind goblins on top of deep yishku the city guard towers are under goblins camp but also ppl step on your swings so the tower kill ya

I played this game up until abotu a month ago.
great game, but you really need to be in a guild to enjoy it to its fullest. It is brutal rigth from the get go, and if you can't stand losing gear you should not play it.
I quit because frankly the European server was so full of exploited and cheating characters that it really made it all but impossible for me to enjoy the game how I wanted to.
there are alot of problems with it, but overall its fun, if you play with the right group.

after dying one I stuck with it, now I only carry what is easily replaced and I have three sets of gear already. Civ clothes for when I'm mining, fishing, or chopping trees (surprisingly people leave me alone)
Light armor for when im killing mobs, and heavy armor for actual pvp.
I also don't keep any gold or high grade weapons on me unless im in pvp gear.
I haven't been killed since, and have been in several parties which is nice, keeps anyone from attacking you.
I plan on sticking with it. I'm on NA-1 btw. |

If EVE consists of undocking from the safety of a station directly into 0.0 regardless of location, with a gang waiting to kill you, then yes, its just like eve. lol.

for example the safe zone is so small that you can kill AFK ppl at the bind stone and guards tower dont hit you, just need a friend on the other faction to take the loot

Been playing Darkfall on EU for almost 3 weeks now and i have to say its probably the most fun ive had playing a game in a long time.
But if you start of new you need to get yourself into a guild with people that can help you out and explain the game to you. Otherwise youll be lost, get killed a lot and end up leaving.

I picked up Darkfall a couple days ago and I am having a blast as well. Haven't run into many PKs where I am, aside from the odd human who decides a quick foray into Ork lands is in order, but we usually beat him back. To be honest, players have been nothing but helpful when it came to questing, fighting, watching each other's backs, and just answering simple newbie questions. Perhaps it's the race I went with *shrugs*.
All in all though, it reminds me of playing Ultima Online back in the day, where you had to watch your back wherever you went, and made sure you traveled light with nothing valuable.
Risk and consequence re-enters MMOs, and it's damn blast.

Haven't had time to touch my combat skills yet, busy powerlevelling our Corp Weapon/Armorsmithers up to a high level so spending my time farming on both my accounts.
Did take a break for 2-3 hours this morning and go around collecting Chaos Chests. Relaxing way to collect 1500 gold or so with very little risk (at this point in game, it's almost impossible for 1 person to kill your mount, generally takes 3-4 until people start getting high level Archery/Spellcasting).
Most likely going to spend a lot of time this weekend levelling weaponskills. Tentative goal is to hit 50-75 skill in Two-Handed Swords by Monday (currently at ehm, 5!). Also levelling Lesser Magic to 75, and then Greater Magic - though the latter will take a few days longer.

Been playing about a day now and can honestly say, a good clan/guild/corp would help alot. Playing alfar on na-1, any suggestions on a good crew to join up with?

Not touching that link. Even if it's somehow legit, there's an in game method of applying as well as out of game ways of submitting application through user forums then being accepted through in game application button.
I hope that link isn't for phishing account information, but just in case I'm going to check with the appropriate people.
