Political Debate is one of the most effective ways to enlighten and explain while avoiding the trap of information dumping.
Two (or more) participants standing at their podiums, answering hard questions and rebutting their opponents. It makes for good news and isnĘt necessarily an adversarial interaction.
The Star Fraction has long been the poster child for the Freespace movement, but what of those other brave pilots who seek to move beyond the mental limitation of the modern day and are not so well known? |

Yeah go on you've convinced me - see if you can set something up. I'll be available for such an event up to 21st of this Month.

Edited by: Purple Hydra on 17/08/2009 17:14:54 I will send requests for Debate then. We have already created a Debate format and procedures list due to our intention for a future Feature Debate between Loyalists Amarr, Caldari, Gallente and Minmatar.
We will take today to build the detailed questions required to present the arguments on Freespace and have them prepared, assuming your contemporaries will step up and agree to risk debating their viewpoints.
The Freecaptain's Union and Jericho Fraction will certainly be sent a request for involvement. I'll also send a request to Scrap Iron Flotilla.
Are there any other Freespace organizations that should be invited? That would like to be involved?

The Freecaptains' Union will make a decision on the offer if we actually get one.

Edited by: Purple Hydra on 18/08/2009 05:46:28 Tatsue Nuko received an EVE mail some 10 hours ago. I was led to believe she was the spokesperson. if I was incorrect, i'm sorry.

Due to this being set at an ungodly hour, I'll decline attending.

19:00 EVE time was when the Freespace Summit started and you attended that. I just assumed you could do 19:00, it is also the time when most pod pilots are about. when are you available? |

Checking the roster table, it seems difficult to find a time when the CEOs of JERIC and FCU are both likely available before 21 August.
Would Ms Constantine consider either a start at around 23:00 -- day and details to be confirmed with Mr Damordred -- or a later date?
(Jonny, Tatsue may be Secretary-General but I have a bad feeling I've just become the general secretary.)

Purple Hydra,
I am afraid some unforseen events caused me to be unable to read your message in time, just as it interrupted my planned attendance at the summit. I have many commitments and they sometimes cause unpredictable conflict.
However, if a discussion can be set up either impromptu when all parties happen to be present and agreeing to attend, or with sufficient time to (hopefully) be able to secure the schedule, I would be more than happy to participate.
That said, I wish to reinforce the statement that there is no need at all of a "mediator" between the FCU and the SF. We are capable, intelligent individuals who have no difficulty in judging the merit of arguments. A debate may be interesting from a purely self-interested perspective of further developing one's ideas, but "mediation" could only fill a role in a more direct conflict. At this time, there are no conflicts that I am aware of outside the confines of this very venue, and since it is open amd the "conflict" quite limited I have difficulty in seeing the requirement for mediation.
Thankyou.
