So im at the point where i want to train Dreads and Carriers, i can fly both Min and caldari BS's and Fully T2 fit the T2 cruiser. So i wanted some insight on both sides. I'm guessing Min is going to be the way to go. But just wanted to ask before i waste a great deal of time

The Chimera is probably the best carrier, but nobody shield tanks and thus it is the least wanted carrier.
The Nag is all-around a better dread now.

Nidhoggur is a pretty solid carrier, and Naglfar a very decent dread by now.

In a dread slugfest you'll be facing extreme dps output against only your local tank (since you are sieged), in some way shields take the cake here since shield boosters add HP at the beginning of a cycle as well as tanking way more DPS.
Contrary to popular belief capping out is not an issue, as you will go down way before your cap is depleted, so being able to sustain your tank for 2 minutes in siege is more than you will usually need.

You are missing the point.
Sure it cannot put quite as big a shieldtank as the phoenix but it can put enough to be able to survive a POS. Also when you shieldtank it you have the ability to fill lowslots with dmg mods.
So the naglfar has effectively become a nice DPS ship. Little weak on the tank side, but atleast it does SOMETHING right now. __________________________________________________

In terms of Dreadnoughts there is now very little reason to ever flt a Phoenix. Since the huge (some might say completely over the top) boost the Naglfar got it is pretty much on a par with or better than the Phoenix in every way. A fairly standard buffer fit (Cap Shield Booster, em, therm, 2x invuln, 3x cdfe and a few pds) sees the Nag and Phoenix fielding almost identical tanks.
With only 2 Gyros an Arty/Citadel Nag will out DPS a TRIPLE BCS Phoenix which is frankly silly. Factor in the fitting issues frequently encountered with the Phoenix (CPU restraints often force you to fit faction shield hardeners) and the Phoenix is basically redundant.
As far as Carriers go, in isolation the Chimera would be a better choice. As soon as you are in a group the prevalence of Armor tankers seriously reduces their effectiveness.
Basically, go Minmatar.

The Phoenix matches the DPS of the Naglfar with 3 damage mods on each, but sports a better tank and EHP. I don't know what you're fitting, but I can fit all T2 on a dreadnought and have no CPU issues.
