At the very least, let windows remember where they were, and make the shortcut keys work for all of them. I can press my shortcut for the cargobay, but if i press the one for hangar, it exchanges for the cargo. Shift + click... yeah what a good idea. But no... shift plus shortcut key? Nope. Only mouse can be shift clicked.
Let the loot window be seperate, and let it remember where i last placed it, same goes for ore hold, corp hangars and such. At the very least. Then I can live with it.
It is a nightmare using an orca these days. I shudder to think how the rorqual and pos users have it. I want to play, then i remember the "unified" inventory. And I play something else. Something that don't **** me over after 10 seconds of starting it. |

Narcotic XIII wrote:OK so i have a few big problems with the new user interface. To sum it up I'd say it's very irritating, time wasting, user unfriendly, repetetive & a large step back from what we had before. Here are my reasons why: When you dock, you want your ships and items windows to be wherever you left them, not docked in the station services panel. You want the ships/items windows to be immediately visible when you dock. With the old system:
- Everything is right infront of you when you dock. Nothing needs done.
With the new system :
- you have no ships/items windows apart from in the station services panel
- you have to open your cargo
- hit the >> icon to expand the ships/items heierarchy list
- expand the window so you can actually see what you want to click on
- shift+click on ships & items to open these windows
- hit the << button to remove the ships/items hierarchy list
- resize your cargo window to it's normal useful state.
Prior to the changes to the UI all of these steps were done for you, because you'd done it once before, so when you docked everything was right there to use. bang, simple, done. This new interface resets iteself every time you undock, leaving you repeating the whole process. The UI changes need to be rolled back since it's simply irritating the user rather than becoming an interface to the user. Please +1 this & maybe we can have some functionality back. Thank you.

CCP you seriously messed up... again. FIx the damn windows so they stay where I damn put them. I don't want my container windows on top of my cargo... I want them separate. Why is this so hard to grasp? Do you even play your own game? |

I usually never post complaints, but this particular change warrants it. This new system is very time consuming, and can be very frusterating just to do the simplest of tasks. When I dock up I have gotten used to and very much liked how my station inventory and ship inventory boxes were the size and place I had put them before. Every time I install EVE I have always put these inventory boxes in the same place and it has always worked for me and been easy. I appreciate the dedication of the DEVs always trying to find ways to improve the game, but not all improvements are good ones. That being said, I think it is important to heed the wishes of the majority and a roll back is called for in this situation. At the very least, a option box in the settings to use the old system or the new one, as many have said here already.
I am Tom Zarik, and today is the first day of the new era. |

I would also like to add, windows that we can undock (via shift-click?) would not be a full and complete solution to the problem.
We really do need the old UI as an option. Not just a band-aid.
I apologise for the americanism, but the phrase sums things up well.
Again, thanks for the hard work CCP. |

+1 If you want to keep the new inventory, fine. BUT give all of us other the ability to change it back to the old, actual usefull inventory. The new One is terribad!
Also, screw all those hipsters crying "adapt to it you old grumpy ppl", we've tried it and disliked it okay? Deal with it, you will Not make us change our minds to adapt to some new crappy thing as the old One was absolutely fine for everydays Business. |

since I posted last, many changes have been made and several fixes have been introduced.
So I can actually use the new inventory system for day to day operations. And I am glad that I will get my separate ships and item windows permanently in station again.
Nonetheless, the inventory system was not broken and I dislike the new system. There was no reason for this damn UI to be built in the first place. The old UI worked great for 9 years. 3 of which I have been playing EVE.
Never once in my 3 years of gameplay being in large 1000 man plus alliances have I seen or heard a single complaint from anybody about the old inventory system. It never came up in mumble, vent, or teamspeak. It also never came up on any alliance forums, nor typed in our alliance or coalition Jabber channels.
In fact, I have never seen or heard a single player of EVE Online anywhere say "I wish they would change the inventory interface." I'm sure some people have, but through my average daily interactions with EVE and its players for the last 3 years, I never saw or heard any.
To me, this means it was working properly in the first place and the players didn't mind it. I am sure some people hated having a lot of windows open, but I personally prefer lots of window. I can quickly and easily move things around with them. I know many miners and logistics jump freight pilots who also like having multiple windows, as well as corporate officers who need to actively use the corporate hangers in stations and in POS setups.
Everybody I know in EVE Online through my corporation, alliance, and coalition has said they preferred the old inventory system.
We've been through this before, CCP. EVE is indeed your game. But in a more accurate sense, it is our game. You own the rights and in the end have final say over its direction, but we the players feel very connected to the game. And to suddenly **** with something this core to daily gameplay when the vast majority of us like it as it is can only cause friction.
Thank you for making these fixes. It will help, but in the end you screwed with a very big part of our game and even if you fix it, a lot of people will remain frustrated that you did this to something that was not broken in the first place. |

Slightly improved it may be in browsing it, it's still painfully slow doing anything else... particularly with a large number of items in inventory. Opening cans in space is still massively laggy, moving stuff - again, hugely CPU intensive to the point where the client freezes. Stack All, don't get me started!
Why fix something that wasn't broken by replacing it with something that is? |

CCP Soundwave wrote:Gnast wrote:I did a big logistics run yesterday evening on TQ, and the lag was still there in heaps which put the nail in the coffin for me with regards to industry. We have a few performance fixes coming out on Tuesday as well. That should help, especially with towers.
CCP Soundwave seem to be blindly running with this new system and not even listen to the community as a whole. Over 1011 votes have ask for a roll back. Showing that all the lesson CCP has claimed to have learned over the last few years isn't helping the community. GMs are unable to assist player in resolving the issue they are having with the new Inventory UI, which is not their fault at all. CCP needs to yet again admit that it messed up with this Inventory UI and roll back to the old one. It was an uncalled for and unwanted Inventory UI to start with. |

Would love to have the old system back, but I know that's not happening. CCP's got our money already. If CCP wants to make changes: -rollback to old inventory system (pre-Inferno) -enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters) -add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot) -stop "fixing" what isn't "broken" |

CCP seems to be listening to themselves more, the CSM less, and the people not at all.
Perhaps we are taking this the wrong way. Perhaps we should be pestering those elected to be our voice, because our screams (despite thousands strong) are still drifting into the atmosphere-less abyss.
On another note, it seems Soundwave is going to be at EvE Vegas this year. |
