Heyo,
Just planning for the future here for when I get into BSes. I've been looking into the faction BSes and since I've got the ISK, why not buy one for doing L4 missions?
A corpie of mine is telling me that the Nightmare would be one of the best for L4s, but I'm thinking the Machariel would be more beneficial for me in the long run. Here's my reasoning.
1) The Nightmare requires training for Energy Turrets. I despise Amarr ships/weapons (too much cap use for me), and as such I'd never use the turrets I trained up for in any other application than missions.
2) Nightmare requires Caldari/Amarr BSes...neither of which I plan on flying (Amarr weapons, Caldari shields, etc).
3) Machariel has bonuses to Projectiles, which I'll be focusing on along with Blasters.
4) Machariel is armor tank (I believe). No need to spend time training for shield skills that I'll rarely use in any other situation.
Now, to me it looks like the Nightmare will outdamage/range the Machariel, but is it worth the extra time crosstraining to Amarr/Caldari BSes/weapons?
Thanks!

I don't plan on training for shields or missile skills. :)
Question still remains: Nightmare or Machariel.

Not really, I'm genuinely interested. Is it worth it to train up for those skills that I'll only use in missioning? I'm an armor tank for PvP (where I spend most of my time) and mainly use projectiles/hybrid weapons.
Yeesh, can't even ask an honest question anymore without people screaming troll.

You answered your own question: Mach.
I meant I didn't plan on it unless the consensus was that the Nightmare was better than the Machariel (which it sounds like it is). No point in training for them if training for something else will help you more.
I guess I could have worded it better.
