I am running a serpentis / guristas worlds collide ATM and am wondering if this mission secretly got the new AI as the enemies are switching targets and taking out drones like nothing. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance! Don't take life seriously, nobody gets out alive anyway... |

Edited by: Denidil on 21/07/2009 01:00:00 WC has always been known to retarget. it was one of the things that made the mission harder since it had greater rewards.
it's not using he sleeper AI.
CCP stated quite clearly only NPCs created in Apoc or later will be using the Sleeper AI.

the retargeting happened around the need for speed in trinity. before you just got full aggro from one side and then aggro from the other side as you aggro back
I liked it that way, also almost all 1.2mil bs

just made me picture a super tanked BS aggros everyone into a 5km area and then smartbombs them all. (Or a group of BSes warp in to cover the area and smartbomb. ________________________________________________

God people this has been around FOREVER.
To put it simply:
NPC's in Worlds Collide are TETHERED in the first room. Meaning they all originate from point "X". When they move a certain distance from point "X" they RESET and move back to point "X". And like any normal NPC, after the reset they target the NEAREST TARGET.
WC is the only mission with this bug... and that's exactly what it is a BUG.
I cannot understand how you people have not figured this out, hell I understood what was happening after the first time I encountered it.

In my experience, in WC, the drones are considered the equivalent of another ship in the deadspace. As a result the drones aggro the groups that have not yet been aggro'ed by the primary target. If you recall the drones the aggro does not appear to transfer to the ship in this mission and the ships that were firing on the drones return to their original position. I have never had ships actually retarget by changing from my ship to the drones - it was always unaggroed ships that were firing on the drones.

this is correct. actually if you people would use eve-survival and read the comments on this mission (not 100% sure if this comment is present on the guri-serp version) you'd see that some1 comments to use this "bug" to safely snipe those ships down as they come to you, then fly back, reset (their HP does not reset) and get into an infinite loop forth-back.
