Most large forums have that option... A b u t t e r f l y is not a word that should be filtered, so is c o c k p i t, which can be used very often in EVE Online context.

They are talking about a permanent solution. My guess is it involves Viking Berserkers taking a trip to another continent to burn and pillage server farms of certain people.

I also find that when a word is filtered I automatically substitute it with its worst possible possibility. I'd rather just deal with whatever was meant to be said originally. I agree with the guy who said there should be an option to turn it off. It's an intrusive and totally unnecessary feature to me and my experience reading these forums would actually be improved by my brain not having to try and decode a bunch of asterisks to figure out what someone was saying. I'm sure there are good reasons why this is not the case. I must admit, though, that if*cutor et al* are filtered then I think there's something badly wrong
