I've seen most Crusaders fitted with Dual Light Pulse Lasers with Scorch, but I was wondering if beam lasers could work.

23km optimal so you can stay at your max disrupt range rather than orbit close in at 11-14km. You do lose out some damage, but you don't need to fit expensive Locus rigs and you can fire the moment you get a point.

Cap stability mostly, although you can swap it for a Catalyzed and swap an Aux rig for a CCC.

Beams, even small ones, track like ****. I tried beamsader once many moons ago and hated it. Although I will say, if you are going to do nothing but kite, I'd swap the Nanos for ODs - maneuverability isn't your most important characteristic in that situation, speed is. -- Meridius Dex Visit the Gunship Forums --

Not sure what you're expecting to do here tbh.
You lose out on about 30% of your dps with fitting beams, and Aurora ammo reduces your already terrible tracking to less than that of Neutron blasters on a Megathron. Granted the turret signature aids your tracking somwehat, but against other frigates, I think you'll struggle.
If you're fit to tackle, don't worry about shooting. If you're fit for dogfighting, then don't worry about range.
