Ok so how does this work? I got AE last night and killed everything/looted but didn't turn it in thinking that DT reset everything. I went back to the missing spot today and there is no gate...
So did i do something wrong or what? thanks so much for your help WD

It doesnt work once youve killed everything. You can try to kill everything but the trigger... but I dont think it works with missions.
Hey Watered, this is Arno's new character. Contact me in game.

You just don't do whatever it is that triggers completed.
in AE you don't kill the guy with the 2 drones when he spawns.

Farming a mission lowers isk earnings.
You reduce the reward/bonus/lp for time spent. Only 1x reward/bonus/lp for the mission.
Its possible to farm a mission so run it 8x. you get: - towards 8x the bounties/loot/salv (something like AE4 is much less as can't do bonus room) - the same lp/reward - no bonus - pain of not being able to run missions continually with an agent.
Get a good agent and you get over 1/3 your isk value from lp and the bounties just dont make up for these losses.
But keep listening to those expeienced players saying farm misions, as your keeping the completion times for missions up, ie making the rest of us who dont farm the mission more isk through larger reward/bonus/lp from the farmed mission.

WRONG ANY mission farmer surely has many agents nearby that if they like to play more than an hour or so per day could easily go talk to another high quality lvl agent. I personaly have faction standing over 8.0 meaning I can use any agent I wish. My record for farming was 4 AE all within 6 jumps of each other.

The biggest problem that I see with mission farming is the ninja mission guys. I heard one talking in local that if he warps into a mission that is being farmed, he will kill the trigger so it won't respawn.

Listen to the experienced, and keep farming those missions, because it helps keep up the mission rewards/bonus/lp for the rest of us so we non-farmers make more isk
The more farmers like this, the more isk I make.
Its simple math, so beyond the average mission farmer.
Take AE4 farmed. Your farming it so your not doing the bonus pocket, nor the named battleship in the 2nd to last pocket - thats missing bounties on 11 battleships + change plus all the salv from these. There are 21 battleships + change before this so basically your missing 1/3 the bounties of the mission. Put it another way, complete the mission and you can get like 50% more bounties/loot/salv plus the mission reward/bonus/lp. Take A recent mission earnings post with 1800 isk/lp which I consider light atm as I'm getting 5000 isk/lp (based on current tag market prices). Using the 1800 isk/lp thats 17 mil in lp/reward/bonus for completing the mission within the time allowed. Once you complete the mission you can warp directly to loot without having to muck around with afterburners within a pocket as the mwd works - ie faster looting and salv. Myself as I picked my agent more carefully, 5000 isk/lp works out to 42 mil from lp/reward/bonus. Basically I would need to farm the mission for almost a week to get the same isk as I get from completing the mission once! But by all means, listen to the voice of experience and farm these missions and help keep the lp/reward/bonus I get for mission up and hence the isk.
Picking your agent carefully so it gives better isk/lp return will do more for your isk than farming missions. Once you do that, do missions as quickly as possible will return more isk be it a T1 ship you fly or a T2 battleship like a golem. Works even better when mission farmers continue to farm those missions.
Say the mission takes 60 min to farm, you get about 18 mil bounties + loot/salv an hour. If you complete the same mission (no bonus room) you get the same 18 mil + lp/reward/bonus. At 1800 isk/lp thats 35 mil + loot/salv an hour. At 5000 isk/lp its 60 mil/hour. I know, the voice of experience tells us that 18 mil an hour is better than 35 or 60 mil an hour ...

Farming Vs running individual missions depends on how you play the game.
Some can make more isk farming, some can make more running missions one after the other.
Try it both ways and find out for yourself.

This tbh....
I've got 11 L4 agents relatively close to eachother - and strive to have as many Recon 1of3 in my journal for as long as possible - simply love that 8+ mill bounties for 20mins of letting my drones do the work ;) --

You are an idiot.
Like the man said, once you get certain faction standing, all agents become available to you (except rnd). Not confined to any one corp, you can get ur missions from anyone nearby. So if you get AE4, you can farm it and have other agents, possibly even int eh same system, that you can run missions for. So you don't cut yourself short by only running one mission a day. If you are lucky, you can even get multiple AEs lined up. The most I've seen anyone have is 8 AEs in their journal. The massive amount of isk they earn from that far ofsets the cost of the mission bonus (I have to lol that you even think that is an important part of the MR's income).
The fact that you think any mission would take an hour to farm indicates you are pretty inexperienced.

So to use the same figures ... 25 mil bounties (its garbage as your not getting this much from farming ae4 without the bonus pocket but I'll use it). If you complete the same mission you get the same 25 mil + 20 mil salv + 15 mil loot + the mission reward/bonus/lp. At 1800 isk/lp thats +17 mil, at 5000 isk/lp thats the 42 mil.
So we have farm = 60 mil in 60-90 min vs complete for 77->102 mil in the same time. 20 mil salv and 15 mil loot? Again it sounds like you counting the bounties/salv/loot from the bonus pocket so actual is probably about 2/3 that. 2/3 60 mil is about 40 mil and add bonus/reward//lp and your up to 57-82 mil vs 40 for the same time. As stated, simple maths. If simple maths too much challenge - mission farming could be just the thing for you!
I'm not highly skilled, but I work on doing those poor returning missions which the mission farmer know dont pay very well. I can see the 60-90 mi probably means its 60 min when dont do the bonus room and farm, and 90 min is when do the bonus room - and all this for say 7700 lp in 90 min when finally complete it.
40 mil x 7 + 60 mil + lp from completion 1x. 1800 isk/lp = ~356 mil in 8.5 hours = 41.88/hr. at 5000 isk/lp its ~381 mil or 44.88 mil/hr.
Complete in 60 min @ 1800 isk/lp = 40 mil + 17 = 57 mil/hr. 5000 isk/lp = 82 mil/hr. For lp collecting AE4 isn't even great as there are much better missions to collect lp from doing all those missions the farmers avoid.
Simple math. Completing AE4 in 60 min, doing the missions the farmers avoid, I average around 10000 lp an hour - ie 50 mil/hr + bounties/loot/salv/mision reward/bonus. I have lower skills so use 2 chars to complete AE4 in 60 min (under 2 mil skill points between 2 chars in gunnery) and with more skills it will get much quicker to complete for me.
We see the mission farmer reply accuracy - 60-90 min. ie a 50% variance. My figures are much more accurate than that. There are worse missions than AE4 and their are better for isk/hr.
What one sees is mission farmers dont value lp, hence they farm bounties. If lp has any decent value, then running even the so-called less profitable missions returns better isk. Traveling up to 6 jumps to move btween these farmed missions also cuts down returns. If fly the mission ship the up to 6 jumps, plus the salvage ship thats up to 24 jumps (6 there, 6 back, 6 there/back for salv) taking up to 24 minutes travel while making no isk.

No, that's about how much the main part is worth.
Quote: As stated, simple maths. If simple maths too much challenge - mission farming could be just the thing for you!
And you still fail to include the numbers that matter: the value of the rest of the week. It doesn't matter how simple the math is if you don't use the right numbers.

…which means your simple math fails by not including the simple matter of dividing by two. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Yeah CTRL +C will be my friend from now on.
Watered Down, simple matter is, if you have limited playtime, setting up so you know at least what some of the missions will be ahead of time is a good thing.
It's just unfortunate that AE has the bonus room as it allows people to come up with all sorts of figures as to why farming is rubbish.
Simple fact is, if you want to guarentee you'll be running one of the "bigger missions" (aka AE, WC, Blockade), then farming is for you.
If you do the maths with the Blockade mission, the disparity isn't so cut and dry as you only leave a single BS as the trigger spawn.
Short version, do what works for you, I personally find that not farming means i'll probably just not log in at all, where if I've set something up, i'll at least make a token effort at it, so I will gain more isk farming.
As you posted already the "6 jumps out 6 jumps back" example posted by the anti farmer is nonesense. I have 8 lvl4 agents within a sphere of 2 jumps and find I might only make 3 jumps an evening. Trick is to setup loot/salvage caches in the systems you fight in, that way you don't go back and forth to your home base, it's literally, dock, drop, undock, next mission.
You can make a lot of money with LP, by farming you lose a HUGE chunk of that. But equally you won't lose an evening running missions because you got a rediculous 10 jump round trip courier mission or because you got 2 Vs faction missions in a row and had to ice the agent for 4 hours. You'll also be running high end missions instead of slow boating between gates on "the Score" or gradually getting into range of the mission item in "duo of death" all the time running back to the agent system for a new mission.
As I said before, it's worth doing it both ways to see what works best.
I suppose this must be my sig. I'll do something cool with it eventually. |

Farming can be worth it under a few conditions:
- You don't nearly get 5000 isk/LP like the rambling antifarmer muppet in here (and it is fairly likely that you won't get that, at least not in large quantities) - You have two agents in the same system or at least very close to each other, one is farmed, the other is run normally. - You run in a ganktanked ship against NPCs with good salvage or exceptional loot/bounties, so the isk/hour from bounties, loot and salvage is much higher than that from LP and mission rewards. (fairly likely on the missions deemed worth farming, like Recon 1 or Gone Berserk) - You have very limited time and only run at best a handful of missions per day anyway.
Personally, since I have faction standing well beyond 7 and thus can ignore the standing loss from declining multiple missions without wait, I only farm anymore when I get a juicy mission close to DT or know that I will not run more than like three missions in the following days. Otherwise I just decline everything that is crap, the good ones will come up again. And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

5000 isk/lp is apparently impossible yet anyone who wants to can currently make this. Its all the players who have decided it can't be done which makes it possible as competition would reduce returns. Ie a reduction in profit not going to happen anytime soon!
Lets pick Jita buy prices as I'm viewing in-game currently. There are better but I'll use them as instructions. Highest buy price currrently. - 119 tags at 181,000 each = 21.539 mil. - 79 tas 502,000 each = 39.658 mil - isk directly spent = 10.8 mil - components 0.5 mil --------- 72.5 mil cost to trade in 27,000 lp
I'm paying less than this myself as Jita prices aren't cheap.
How much does this trade-in for? Again using Jita prices, lowest sell price currently: - 235 mil
235 mil - 72.5 mil = 162.5. Call it 160 mil as is some trading fees. thats 5926 isk/lp.
If your like some of the above, need 2 hands, a map, and instructions to find your own backside, then I can see how hard to make 5000 isk/lp could be. If even when given a map, you can't see lp has value, then nothing will. Bounties have value, but lp has a lot of value which mission farming misses out on.

The thing is, like you say yourself, if more people start trading their LP for these sekrit items that yield insane isk/LP (and personally I am occasionally cashing in at 9K per LP, even though that is not a lot of LP), that value will plummet. So using such high figures for generalizations is just not accurate. 2K isk/LP is very achievable for everyone with half a brain though without crashing any niche markets, so that is a much better guideline.
Plus I don't see any BPC in the LP database that fits your figures and yields that kind of isk. So unless you share it (which you prolly won't) I gotta believe it is a very special and uncommon item, or you are exaggerating :P And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

Gotta say , I am a more laidback player , love the drones and love the domi , not the fastest ship I know to do a mission in but still....
Anyway , enough rambling, I dont really care about ISK/hr ratios or all that to much , I only run at max 3 missions when I am on , If I happen to find a mission that I enjoy ,well I might just farm it for the pleasure of killing say Zor's friends over and over again !
Farming and Isk and all that isnt the be all and End all of this game , gotta say its more a social experience !
Chill and have fun !

Leandro, after checking out Irdia Freelancer's standings in-game, I'm guessing she's using the Carthum Conglomerate LP store and running missions from the L4 Q18 admin agent there.
If you check out Irdia's contract history you'll see she's sold a lot of amarr navy EANMs in the past, so I reckon the tag numbers she refers to go towards purchasing the 5 run BPC of that faction item.
Now an amarr navy EANM sells at somewhere around 40 mil on contracts atm, so thats about 200 mil from selling 5 less the tag/direct isk costs which are about 70-somethingish million as she states. so about 130 million divided by 27,000 LP giving about 4800isk per LP, which is near enough what Irdia claims she can get.
Therefore it would be a good idea for all serious mission runners to make their way to Aphend system pronto

Finally!
I bet it took you only a couple of minutes tops, while others with years of experience couldn't manage it with 2 hands, a map, and intstructions!
Its not the only item one can get high isk returns from. If one looks they are out there and will always be out there. Some lp purchased probes and launchers also around similar returns. Even if others get into the market, its not likely the prices will change any time soon as much of the price rise is a shortage, ie the short term/wont last being mention has been running high for as long as I've been playing and the shortage has driven prices/returns up. Demand outstrips supply, the price rises - economics 101.
Myself, my last tag purchase was 14,000 tags and I've almost cleaned that out. Its obviously an obscure item to have me turn over so few tags. Yesterday I sold like 4 @48 each in Jita which is above my example of 47. Like others, I may as well get premium prices.

Two words "Lights Out" This mission can be farmed, rather easy, and drops a 10mil overseer effects (last i checked was around 10mil). I farmed this mission for a few weeks straigh and made a nice chunk of change. problem was i got a little trigger happy and killed the mission trigger.

Its not the only item one can get high isk returns from. If one looks they are out there and will always be out there. Some lp purchased probes and launchers also around similar returns. Well, running for a Carthum admin agent qualifies as obscure for me, as does running for Sisters. You cannot use either as standard for anything. As far as EANMs go, when I bought them last time it was for 25 mil each, so thats what my 'no way you can make that much off any items with your figures' was based off. Has their price really doubled in the last month or two?

Mission farming is a player choice. Its not about the isk as you dont make more farming. Thats not to say one can't make good isk farming missions - one can.
Take someone who can't find their own backside with 2 hands, a map, and instructions. They will claim it can't be done as they haven't done it. They will emphasize their 'experience' as proof it cant be done. When given examples then its 'obscure' like the billions of isk traded every day of EANM's from just the cal navy dock in Jita 4-4. They claim that its short term - I've sold ~600 of in the last year and am a minor player in the market with the lowest return being over 3500 isk/lp.
It took another reader about 2 minutes to find the item which couldn't be found by the experienced mission farmers.
Carthum has other agents than the admin agent. How much courier runs does the admin agent offer? In over 700 missions offered only 20% were courier. I only get a rare EA1/5 offered as a faction mission so have little to turn down to maintain my factional standings. I run 2 characters so this means I need to get 4 courier missions (or EA 1/5) offered in 4 hours before I need to do a courier mission. Even doing courier missions I currently get around 43 mil/hr from them, with other missions returning better.
There are many other items that return good isk/lp without doing missions for Carthum or Sisters of Eve - but they require players to look for them. Mission farmers with 2 hands, a map, instructions and still can't find stuff are just not up to finding these items. Isk/lp returns on items will always be profitable for those that are willing to spend effort to find them.

How exactly did you check on that? Not all sources agree on the exact distribution of missions by mission type, so if you're just parroting some particular source and not your own personal extensive experience, then you could be wrong. Here's a different source I found that says differently:
Administration 23.58% courier 76.14% kill Linkage Administration 76% kill 23% courier Linkage
Is this more correct than your source? Not sure, but it casts doubt on any claims you may state as 'fact' when in reality you have no clue.
Perhaps you're referencing a source like this (from 2004!; based on their own experience): Linkage

evelopedia is the only source I would trust. therefore, I didn't bother checking those sources that you linked. see for yourself, just scroll down to agent missions. http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Agent#Agents_by_mission_type I suppose you'll be saying that evelo has no clue next

Where do you think the players who updated evelopedia got that information? Same sources I quoted. If you think evelopedia is gospel, then you're naive and uninformed. The whole point of evelopedia was that it's a community-driven information source to free up CCP from having to document their own game. It makes evelopedia just about as accurate as wikipedia (probably a lot less because there's only a handful of contributors to evelopedia).
Do you know who Tiberyya Za or ISD Salpsan are? Do you know how and where they got the information they're posting? I don't. Unless there's a way to verify the information posted against credible sources who collected that information in a way that can be reproduced, it's just opinion and not fact. Word of advice: don't believe everything you read on the internet.

ok, to amuse you I checked you source. this is from YOUR source. "MesUno: My data for the Admin agents do support that they give out more kill than courier - Although over 44 missions it has been 59.1% kill and 40,9% courier." move on now troll.

LOL no need to amuse me - I'm already amused. Clearly you only believe what you want to believe. I take your 44 missions source and trump you this:

My Gallente standing is 9.99 and my Creodron is 10.0, all the Creodron standings came from Admin missions.
My name is still in the top 10 list if you care to check. http://www.starvingpoet.net/?page=Missions

How many thousand Admin missions have you done to base your opinions on Loco?
so, you're going off a site that only tracks the missions you run cause You said that you ran it. What about the courier missions you declined? Did you think of taking those into account? as far as admin agents go. From my own personal exp. I know enough not talk to them because they like to give out many (about 50%) courier missions. which we all know are a waste of time when kill pay so much more. CCP. THE GAME DEVS. report 50/50 for admin agents. and until they state otherwise that is what I will beleive.

Source please. Where has CCP officially stated the distribution of missions for various agents? You're just making stuff up as you go along, and only digging yourself into a deeper hole. You come on these boards to flame someone with actual experience and collecting data on these types of missions by quoting some random, old data that others who bother collecting extensive data have already disproven when you yourself have no experience running those missions, and now that your opinions are being challenged you're just spewing more garbage. Just man up and admit that you were wrong already (fat chance of that, I know).

Seriously, what part of user-generated content monitored by player volunteers do you guys not understand. It's really not that difficult of a concept to grasp.
Some of the content on EVElopedia was pulled from the old CCP descriptions on how some of the stuff works, but the vast majority of it has been posted by players who either wrote their own entries, or who gathered whatever was available on a particular subject from the wider internet. When CCP first launched EVElopedia, it was an empty shell.
EVElopedia is NOT written by CCP, which means it's NOT the absolute truth about the game mechanics. It's the best available information that players posted until it gets challenged by other players with conflicting information.

check this link and the warning in red "Warning: The table below does not consist of official CCP information. It contains data based on player resource websites like Evegeek.com " looking at that. eve geek is not official and CCP official data shows 50/50. Futhermore, if you look at the bottom of the evelo website it will tell you CCP Copyright. Now, I don't know where you come from but that cleary tells me who wrote evelo.
