Have this ever been requested?
If it has I appologies, I think an inside out view would add greatly to this game.
Perhaps with a pan-view inside should equipment mods and mounts in the*****pit.
???

Meh. Its an interesting idea however what would the point of it be? Its not like a first person shooter, but if it were it would be cool.
(You would need to find a good purpose to have the*****pit view because right now there are none)

I've spoken to several friends who will not buy and play thi sgame for the single reason that there is no interior view.
I agree it's not a first person shooter, however offering that internal view may just add to the submersion, at the moment everything is very removed. I look on from a distance while stuff happens, but it;s still my character doing the work, I would like to have his point of view as an option.

It would be really cool, but if you've ever read the POTW on the EVE site you'd understand why it's just a camera that follows you. The Jove gave technology to all the empires that pilots your ships now, you are suspended in a tube and linked to the ship with your mind and you control camera drones that follow you around and that also adds sound to give use of all your senses.

Oh, come now. After-the-fact in-game justifications for a design choice do not apply to making the choice in the first place. You could just as easily say that "Jove technology integrates the input from sensor suites all around the ship and synthesizes signals into the pilot's brain that generate a first-person view even though the hull is opaque".
I'd like to see a view angle lock so that the "camera drone" moves relative to my ship, rather than staying fixed. It'd give a much better sense of maneuvering, and also help with the immersion problem that causes people to want a first-person view. We're playing a game, not watching a movie of someone else playing a game.

I agree that a camera lock option would be nice, I'd also be cool to actually see the drone following other ships, orginally they were going to even be destroyable I believe.

Yes I think that camera lock would be a very good idea. Was thinking of a first person view myself, but I think the Lock from the camera drone would not only solve the problem, but would be more realistic to the game. |
