Hi! I'm back! After a month-long suspension for an unfortunate typo they've turned me loose again! Seems I "accidentally" included an "s" with the word "he" when referencing a certain person and it wasn't taken too kindly. I often have trouble with the "s" and "h" on my keyboard and Houndwave wasn't too pleased. (Ooops! I did it again!)
Since spellchecker doesn't catch that sort of thing, I've employed a 72-year old neighbor lady, who wears pink sweaters and a heart-shaped locket with a picture of her poodle in it, to rap me behind the ear with her cane anytime I type something that could be construed as sexist. However, ladies, don't you find it's okay for the guys to use femaleness and references to female body parts as humorous or insulting references, but if we should accidentally do the reverse, the guys get their noses bent out of shape? This isn't the sort of equality we're looking for, guys.
Ever wonder what we talk about in the ladies room when we go off together in a group? I'll tell you. We're comparing notes on you guys as a group and conspiring our next move. The next move in the offing is the PDP - The Poontang Denial Program. Yes, guys, if we don't see some forward movement in this area soon, we're moving to a more radical strategy, and with the advancement in mechanical technology we have today, we guarantee you'll be the ones squealing in pain.
So, what's this got to do with EVE? I want a head count, ladies. Let's show these guys they may be the cocks in the yard, but they don't necessarily rule the roost. If you're female for real, add a like to this post. If you know a female who plays but doesn't come to the forums, send her in this one time to be counted. Let's show these guys a running total of how many ladies are among them. (If you want to be a gal, but can't afford the operation, go ahead and be counted, too. Unlike your male counterparts, we understand.)
And remember boys, if we see many more "like a little girl" or "you pu$$y" references, we're going to initiate the PDP and you have only yourselves to blame. (And, here I'd like to apologize to the offended party. We ladies often forget how sensitive and insecure you guys tend to be about your gender. Mea culpa.)

Oh, really? When players can call each other f a g and homo and everything else imaginable in the game, you can't even call some guy a "she" on the forums without getting a monthlong ban? Would be hard to believe, except that its CCP we're talking about. But your thread will be locked since you can't discuss forum moderation on the forums. Even when it makes absolutely no sense. You must have insulted somebody really special, like a goon. |

Dont worry about it ive been banned for a month as well.
I was banned for writing "posting in a thread" in a thread.
It was a shitpost full of other shitposts calling each other homo and **** as well. So i suppose that the bannings are just the whims of the Devs

I have to admit I see the OP's point. I have a daughter and stepdaughter, as well as son and stepson. I've become sensitive to, or aware of, how the language of males tends to use references toward females as signs of weakness, clumsiness or even ineptitude. This is odd since I also saw my daughter coldc0ck my sun and lay him out for fifteen seconds. She KO-ed him with one punch. At the same time she was making straight As while he was struggling to make Cs.
In the competition of life, there's no clear leader. Of the females, one has a phd (is a medical doctor) and the other holds a masters in education. The boys? One is a certified mechanic. The youngest is in graduate physics trying to obtain a masters. (He has a ways to go.) I've thought the level of disrespect to be intolerable when I see terms like "douchebag" tossed around. I know now people who use such terminology have low opinions of themselves, and are unwittingly revealing themselves to be rather under developed.
I think it's important for EVE to have a solid mix of male and female players. I'm always impressed to find rabid PvP females, as well as carebear males. It shows a diversity that can only help the game. I join in the OP's call (even though she can't help being tongue-in-cheek about most things) for us in this community to set the example of truly advanced thinking and embrace equality for real. Equality in allies. Equality in enemies. 'T is a good thing.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention in your usual sardonic way, Ms. Repose.

Taking a suggestion as "cramming" something "down your throat" would seem to make one impervious to reason. Calling showing respect to others a ploy of "social engineers" smacks of an attempt to characterize intolerance and prejudice as a just reaction. I've heard this opinion expressed by fourth-generation members of the 3 x the 11th letter of the alphabet. One can only hope this view is fading fast into the past.
