Mothership is just a bigger carrier immune to EW (like it matters, every fleet has some interdictors/heavy interdictors), they cost like 10 carriers, they deal twice the dps of a carrier, they have some more HP than a carrier, and a little more capacitor/s.
Isn't it a little underpowered?
So ever heard about Remote ECM Burst ?
Well why dont give us a Remote Smartbomb that works like the Remote ECM Burst? You target someone, activate the Remote Smartbomb and everyone near the target gets smartbombed.
It will be a capital module (like the remote ecm burst) limited to motherships, will deal 100-200 dps (this depends how CCP will balance them) from 10km, and wont hit the targeted ship (so u cant insta-pop frigs/cruisers).
This will make motherships (20 billion isk ships) a little better:
You can counter sentrys.
You can -try- to counter RR BS gangs, the range of a T2 large RR is 8.7km, the range of the Remote Smartbomb is 10km. This also means you wont be able to use fighters on the enemy BS, but only sentrys. Only way to survive is to have lots of logistics.
You can -try- to counter sniper gangs (you are ****ed if they are scattered).
You can help a friendly ship clearing drones that are attacking him.
Am i missing something?

No, its for motherships, not titans!
Titans are to much expensive to keep them on the battlefield, and a Remote Smartbomb is not a very powerful weapon.
Who is going to use a titan and keep it on the battlefield just for a Remote Smartbomb? No one.
