Anyone running the current client under Windows 7 32- or 64-bit OS? It was just released to volume license agreement holders, and I'm considering starting with a 64-bit install on a Dell gaming box...
Thoughts welcome...

Edited by: Sir Bonkers on 07/08/2009 21:54:05 I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM on my main machine. (Yes it is legal, I am a Microsoft TechNet Subscriber.) Eve runs just fine. I run two clients on the machine. Both clients are getting 60fps (locked to screen refresh). I am using an nVidia 8800GTS as my video card.
EDIT: Added vid card.

Running Eve just fine under Windows 7 32bit RC1 on both an Acer laptop and a home built tower.
Much better than Vista when that was on the laptop.

I am running EVE wonderfully on Windows 7 64-bit RC1, with an nVidia 285. The only issue I have is that, since turning on the experimental "ksequencer" fix for FW, I occassionally crash to desktop when changing sessions. This is quite rare, and I can't say that I have any reason to suspect W7 is the culprit there.

What exactly is the point of quibbling about running a 32bit application on a 64bit os? I presume you upgraded to 64-bit-super-extra-amazing-marketing-statistic to take advantage of large amounts of system memory, which you need available for significant user space or enterprise level applications to address in order to work properly. Right?

Nope I presume they took advantage of the 64bit so they could fully use their 4Gb+.
Im running Windows 7 64bit with Eve no issues at all runs nice and smooooooooth.

Yea, because all computers can ONLY run games right? No one ever does anything else with their machines while playing games so they would not need more than 4GB of RAM? How about people like myself who use the machine to run two Eve clients all while hosting two virtualized Linux servers and another virtual machine for remote connections? I can confidently say that I actually need more than 8GB of RAM... But computers are just for gaming right?

Been running several versions of the Win7(64bit) beta and RC. No issues with EVE.
And with Winamp, Vent, Firefox(with 13 windows) all my background processes, EFT, EVEMON, and so on running WITHOUT EVE running, I'm useing just a hair under 2 gig of ram. Sure I may not NEED 2 gig just for EVE, but seeing as it routinely gets up to 700-900 meg of ram being used per client when pvping, I'll stick to my 4 gigs with 64Bit OS thanks.

Running it on Windows 7 (64bit)/Radeon 3870 and the only real difference is that load time is a lot quicker than on XP (32 bit). The graphics seem a little cleaner too, but I think that's just cause od DX 10 (not available on xp)

Edited by: Blane Xero on 08/08/2009 07:44:08 Runs fine. I've seen a notable FPS increase aswell over Vista, as Win7 seems to utilise RAM more...Fashionably.
One thing worthy of note is that when you install it, if you get an error saying "Settup was unable to locate or create a system partition", drop down to one hard drive during the install (The HDD you plan on installing on). I've only had this happen on a computer running with 1 IDE + 1 SATA drive but some people get it with different sata drives. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Running on my laptop with Windows 7 x64 RC1 since a few months back. It started crashing when I was viewing market details last night, and now it crashes every time I view market details for something. Regardless, I think I just need to reinstall something, or clear some cache, It ran flawlessly for months.

Running all my stuff on Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit RC (can't remember exactly which one). Today was the first day in ages I ran Windows Vista as the firmware utility for my mouse didn't work in Windows 7.
As others have said its appears framerates are higher and Windows 7 utilises both graphics and system memory in a better way (the graphics part seems odd simply because its still DX10 as far as I know)
