No no don't train for Intys now. One alone costs you between 15 to 20millions and their insurance pays out like 2m if you insure it with 100%. They're elite ships for advanced players, same as all other T2 ships, including the Deimos. The latter will probably cost you more than 60 millions - at least.
These elite ships are for people that have several battleships to make money in - as a death usually hits your wallet for more than 20m. Assault frigates, up to 40m.

I once heard of two BB that took down a BS. They had him target locked, scrambled and did pitiful damage. It took them around 30 minutes to finish him off. The BS pilot in his panic didn't figure out the only thing that could save him, which was of course to log off. . I guess some players will always be n00bs

I will not log off to save a ship. I consider it a matter of honor.

Taking out a BS with frigs/crs is very possible. We had 2 thorax's and 1 rifter today take out a mega that was mining. This person also tryed the log out trick. before he dissappeared we had him into struc. but he logged right back on 5 min later....Like what was said. you need luck, good skills and finding someone that freezes up in combat.

I was just being funny. Anyway I think the orignial poster was asking how to take on a BS solo on his way to his research lab. Not hunting other peps.
I guess unless your in a BS yourself you have no chance to take a Pirat BS down so you would be better of fitting dual mwd or a BB with EW or being in a missile frig orbitting 21 km + at 2000m/s. _____________________________________________
