That's one of the worst battleship fittings I've ever seen.

Originally by: Trevor92 Hi Forgive me for I am kinda new to this game, but how does a tech 2 frigate beat a battleship I know that tech 2 items are special and all but does this game respect the bigger gun?
Big = Slow, holds true for guns as well as ships so it is possible (and rather easy) to get "under the guns" of a larger ship, just like in the real world (tanks are horrid against close infantry!)
The number ONE tip when flying heavy (BC/BS): Always have a flight of Warrior (I/II) drones.
With that simple precaution most smaller ships die before any real harm is done.
The best way however is to have a wing man. Two or more battleships spaced out slightly will disrupt any attempt to orbit either allowing the large guns to put the hammer down.
PS: Always insure the larger ships if you are "active". Chances are you will lose it well before the expiration of said insurance and it can will you rocking well into the night.

A heavy neutralizer is also a useful thing on a battleship. With 25km range, it can virtually neutralize the threat of any frigate. Assuming your BS has a MWD, you should then be able to power out to 20km or so and kill the helpless frigate. You do have a 24km warp disruptor, don't you?

Edited by: Wendat Huron on 09/08/2009 22:12:08 You want a Heavy Neutralizer.
Just found the link to the lost ship, OMFG! You need a corporation, fast! They'll have some people that can at least help you fill the slots on a ship.

Edited by: Ticarus Hellbrandt on 10/08/2009 00:23:03 with a fitting like that its no wonder you blew up so easily, bigger is definatly not better in eve. look for some good setups for cheaper ships and learn the ropes before jumping into a bs.
Also perhaps look for a good corp if your interested in pvp and they will be able to help you out.

By having the battleship flown by somebody that has no clue how to fit it properly.

oh dear.
Well trevor. Some lessons are best learned the hard way. But I'm sure you won't be forgetting this any time soon.
I'm assuming you stuck as many guns on there as you could, then ran out of cpu or grid, because your fitting skills are probably nonexistant.
Definitely get together with some people in a good corp to go over what skills you need. But remember, being a good pvp BS pilot is over 15m sp away. If you want to get into pvp start with frigates. You'll learn many important lessons much more cheaply than if you play in BS. --
EVE is about balls, brains, and paranoia. SP comes in a distant fourth place. |
