I'd dec you but I highly doubt you'd undock any of your ships until I paid for their insurance..
and you have to tell them exactly where you will be, how can you expect a 'merc' corp to actually look for the targets.

Edited by: Nicski on 03/11/2009 16:08:47 This thread has degenerated into quite a negative one against the OP and his Corp and this all stems from the critism from Paul Clavet over his contract with you, but now other people are scenting blood and are starting to snipe at you. So I would suggest you make an effort to resolve that rather than just brushing it off.
I know neither party and am certainly not the alt of one or anyone involved with them. This is my main and I've only been playing Eve for 3 months, but I am a mature analytical player and for what it is worth here is my take based purely on what I have read here.
It seems to me that the initial contract had ridiculous expectations. One Corp cannot wardec just a subset of another Corp ie just the Carebear mission runners. They have to wardec the whole Corp. I can well understand them being asked to prioritise mission running targets but surely it wasn't expected that they would run away when they found a beatable force of the enemy set up for PvP. However, as far as killing mission runners - how does one even start to go about that? Surely when a Corp is wardecced, Corp mission running ceases and all that is left is a few independent players who don't want to PvP going off several jumps to run solo missions. Trying to catch them would be near impossible, you might get lucky with one or two but it would require enormous effort.
So the initial expectations were ridiculous, but they were accepted by DamienEx? That has to be a mark of inexperience on his part, but credit where due, he learnt from that and renegotiated the contract for the following week and now refuses any such silly nonsense for future contacts, albeit his wording on the matter could be improved. At this point Paul Clavet you have nothing to complain about - against your better judgement you reemployed them - NO - you were happy enough with their performance in the first week, end of subject.
The real crux of the problem is the POS op on the night after the contract was renewed and this will kill the Corp if you continue to just ignore Paul's complaint. It is claimed DamienEx specifically agreed an all hands on deck for the Op and then nobody showed other than the two that Paul had to track down and drag to the Op himself. We await your (DamienEx) explanation on this matter, but if it is even remotely true you should have refunded the money for that week already. Claiming that you were all in Alts scouting the neighbouring systems is not an explanation, it is a lame excuse. There are really only two ways forward for you - post the truth if he was lying about what happened, or refund him and request that he posts here that the matter was resolved to his satisfaction - but don't make that a condition of the refund that would make it a bribe/blackmail.

Thank you for realizing that I was inexperienced. I am more than willing to admit it is my own fault for accepting these conditions in the first place. Your right, lesson learned. And now I will respond to the second portion of this.

I went back and I checked the wallet records to see if Paul Clavet was ever refunded the 50mil for our lack of participation on the op we were hired for. Leadership and I had discussed that he would be refunded the 50mil since the OP was scheduled outside of F-OFF prime time. I personally thought that this refund had gone through. Just now I refunded him his 50mil since we did not in fact ever refund him for the POS op.
Also, since this op was outside of F-OFF prime time, all hands were on deck... the two players who were online, showed up. With that said, this is a game. I am not going to skip out on my college classes to see that this OP goes down without a flaw. The other members are not going to ignore their own personal real life issues/plans/commitments/whatever to play internet space ships. We did not fulfill the expectations, so we planned to refund the POS op. Since it didn't happen then, it has happened now. He was refunded the 50mil for the POS op. Period.
Once again, the 50mil has been refunded since F-OFF did not show in sufficient numbers for whatever reason. It was the original intention and since it was not paid then, it has been paid now. Sometimes bad things happen in contracts. Sometimes it's a lack of intel, sometimes it's a lack of experience. We've all been there and made a bad call or taken on something that didn't work out.
The key here is getting it resolved so both sides can move on. I'll be happy to act as a moderator, if requested, to try and find resolution to this issue.
Otherwise, it's time to move on people. Dead horse. Beaten. Move along.

Been flying with these guys for a few days now. They're a solid bunch and we had some good ops against our last WTs.

Seriously, you'd be better off making a new thread.. If I were a client looking for a merc corp and I read this thread I wouldn't hire you guys. It doesn't matter if what was said it truthful or not, the point is all your clients are going to read it.
Go away, make yourself a good web page advising of the services you do and who to contact, give an overview of previous contracts and how well you did, be truthful and then come back and start a new thread.

Most of the negative comments stem from one client/contract. They've executed several and if you filter out that one bad apple, their track record isn't all that bad.
Give 'em a chance to make ammends.

Regardless of whatever negative information might be contained in this thread, I am still getting people asking for us to take their contracts. There are going to be people who hire us because they look at our kill board and base their opinions off of that that and those who will read this thread and make their mind up that way.
People obviously aren't to worried about things if i keep getting contract offers.
With that said we are booked for the next two weeks and will likely have an opening starting November 22nd. If things take a bit longer then we will start a new contract come November 29th.
Obviously our reputation isnt as bad as you would like to make it out to be. Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist |

-I can honestly say, without hesitation or reservation . . . having hired this group in the recent past;
These Clowns Suck!
In the past I had hired these losers to perform a simple 'kill the bad-guy' contract, to the tune of 350 million ISK, only to get failure and excuses! Not one single kill! Come to find out that they accepted BRIBESfrom the target to leave them alone.
I could not, in good faith, recomend these mercs to any potential employer.

You have any proof of this? It's a little difficult taking the words of an alt seriously.

This honestly proves that you are good at marketing and nothing else.. The skool went through a period of getting merc contract after merc contract so fast that i couldn't keep up with what i was telling people.. Go look up the skools stats on battle clinic.

I don't think I've ever said you were bad merc or you even have a horrible reputation. If I have its just been trolling and never from the heart.. All I've said this is thread is a train wreck and it boggles my mind that anyone could take you seriously after reading it. Trash it and start again, and do a proper job.
