As a suggestion that will probably get trolled into the ground. Instead of trying to dazzle us with more "NEW" and "IMPROVED" features this winter instead they spend there time and effort working on all thee issues that seem to be a reoccurring them every day on the forums. Also in doing so complete the half done expansion we just received.
As the old saying goes quality before quantity. As a small list of things which should be looked into and fixed before andy more expansions are to be released, which there is sure to need more added.
1. Merc Marketplace
2. New wardec system and loopholes
3. The new modules that were added / promised (drone damage module seems decent)
4. Incursions (lets face it you killed ole yellar and burned his corpse)
5. Factional warfare ( Have no personal experience on this but have heard dissent about current setup)
6. The unified Inventory (need i say more, tho devs has responded saying they are working on it.)
etc etc
This list can go on and on But These are just off the top of my head. |

Honestly, CCP is working on rebalancing every ship. So for a while its going to be that as the main focus (or should be).
It is likely that the next expansion will be an expansion of our latest expansion. |

To tell you the truth, they're almost going to have to do a winter expansion. CCP really has no choice. Winter is around the time that Dust is going to hit, and if you think they're not going to do an expansion to integrate Dust, then I really got to ask you to lay off the drugs. |

CCP Unifex made clear that all big summer/winter updates are going to be separated by multiple smaller updates like Escalation. Improvement on the inventory, Crimewatch and the promised merc-market are prime candidates for being added this was.

Speaking of which I heard that they are getting a new capital ship out there to unload the electronic warfare roles OFF the carriers and onto these newer ships.
Carriers will retain remoting and fleet supports while the new class will screw with the enemies ability to perform.

CCP wanted to bring new stuff like walking in stations, but players did not want it.
Players wanted that CCP will fix the old and make it better. Now they are doing it like players wanted, stop complaining.
It seems that there is no way to please player base so better to let CCP do what they want.
There is lot of new games out there to try before CCP manage to fix things to decent level of functionality. |

In winter, we will see great and absolutely superb industrial expansion *sarcasm*, that will move moon goo (or create a new one) onto planets, soo that we will be (not likely) pushed more into fighting over planets.
Also another round of 4 frigates will get "rebalancing" into upper craptness.
We will also see move of minning bonus from mining frigs into:
a) newb. frigate
b) new ore mining frigate
So no, nothing really new for the actual pvp.
CCP really please dont use Upgraded, Limited, Experimental-áand Prototype in item names. It sounds like the item is actually worse than basic meta 1 item. Use Calibrated, Enhanced, Optimized and Upgraded. Its really easy to understand that the item is better than meta 1 and its also in alphabetic order. |

I agree with that thought. Don't bother to expand. Your customers aren't impressed with inflation. We are impressed with quality control. Has anyone heard if CCP has a Quality Control section? They may have missed that lesson on their YouTube management course - Managment By Crisis.

There will be a winter expansion, from a marketing stand point there has to be. "New EvE Online Expansion..." Vs "EvE Online, no expansions for the last year..."
See what I mean?
The problems can be fixed in the background while rolling out another xpac it's not that hard to deligate teams to the different in-house functions. Whether they pull it off or not is another story. |

CCP Said earlier that Inferno might really be 3 expansions.. There was Escalation, now there's Inferno proper, but they said some stuff might not be done, so there might be a polish to a lot of this stuff come out in July or something.. Long before the Winter Expansion.. |

Many of the folk I know in-game would happily forgo an 'expansion' to see the many faults with the game mechanics fixed.
I would prefer that CCP stop releasing biannual 'expansions' (I suspect that having committed to a release date explains the unfinished state of the inventory system) in favour of a steady release of smaller, but game ready improvements.

I think an expansion that fixes everything (and expands on a few others) would be the best ever. It doesn't need completely new stuff, we've been getting semibroken new stuff for years and CCP can't keep up with the fixes. |

Best thing that should come from the winter expansion is the tech moon rework, consistently many factors are proving that it has such a huge impact on the actual dynamics of the game that it needs fixing.

winter exp will focus on more integration between dust and eve guarantee it also fixing bugs etc is the role of patches not expansions

Since it is now three years since the last expansion which actually gave us new stuff to do in a spaceship, I'd be ok with another one this winter. 2 "fix" expansions in a row is enough. We're due a gameplay expansion now, I think.

Winter expansion will be about connecting EvE with Dust.

I wouldn't mind getting one expansion every year instead of the two. Having two releases within each year seems to divide and shift development focus quite a bit. I suppose there's nothing wrong if improvements are consistent from expansion to expansion. It should always be a progressive thing instead of implementing features here and there sporadically. I guess we'll see how CCP's new development process works out by the end of the year. If the winter expansion can have a similar or greater effect than Apocrypha or Crucible, then perhaps that marks success -- and in that case, I won't mind getting a small summer expansion and a large winter one. |
