this just showes how little you actually know about minni bs. just stop posting please
And who are you exactly?
Minmatar have the worst battleships, end of story. Don't believe me? Check the devblog (id:666) on battleship sales figures over the past few years. Add in some DPS and EHP figures, and we'll have a real party over here.

Originally by: Benco97 Minmatar BS's are fine, it's Large Artillery that suck. Stick to Autocannons and you'll be golden.
Autocannons are rather horrendous too. The laser mael outdamages the AC mael past 11km... on a projectile ROF bonused ship.
Oh and lol @ mael being one of the best PvP ships. Maybe for station games, but then we can call the Moros pwnsauce too.

Minmatar BS is not too good atm because of their weapons, tho imo some of them perform well with good skills.
Considering the OP was referencing missions, I doubt it.
Have you been in the brutor corp chat before? Every time I'm there I get into an argument with the other players because they seem to think the mael is a better mission runner than the CNR. At the end of the arguments I either end up with a few keyboard letters stuck to my forehead or wonder why natural selection spares so many.

yeah i wonder about that myself everytime i read one of your posts tbh.
i will however agree that for pve none of the minmatar bs can compete with the other races, but to say they are not good for pvp showes how little u actually know
I'd like to see your setups.
Wait, no, they're secret aren't they.
It's always the same story.

Originally by: abrasive soap The maelstrom, panther and typhoon are very good while the tempest, machariel, fleet tempest and vargur are absolutely awful.
I wouldn't call the maelstrom very good. It's a fat pig with a fat tank, but it suffers from bricked drake syndrome. In order to make a battleship with a fat tank useful, you have to be able to apply some decent damage, otherwise you just ignore it. The maelstrom neither has the mobility to apply this damage nor the range to sit still. If it had a 5% bonus to laser damage instead of projectiles, I would agree 100%.

Originally by: Lindsay Logan No, never been in there. Imo, CNR is better mission runner. But I think the ships tehmselfs are ok enough for minmatar. Weapons however needs a boost. Tho I am thinking strictly PVP.
I think the phoon is just fine. It could get some more options with increased fittings but I'm not holding my breath.
The mael is... interesting. The tanking bonus, while nice, doesn't really 'fit'. Autos ATM need to be fairly close to do a decent amount of damage and the mael itself is a giant brick. The bonus is wasted when fitting artillery. I think it will be okay if either a) autos get a decent increase in range, or b) artillery gets a big boost to alpha. Of course the issues also dabble into passive vs active tanking for pvp and the amount of mids needed for a short ranged pvp ship. It's geared like a PvE ship, but it's kind of confused as a PvP ship. I wouldn't mind the shield boost bonus being replaced for something that would make it an acceptable sniper boat.
The tempest, though, is overshadowed by both of the above. It needs an overhaul because it has no roles anymore. The utility mids are no longer useful and will never be useful again as CCP nerfed the entire utility field.

This (i believe) is the active tanked fit I used when nos were still the "it" item and active tanks were king. Pre-barrage and pre-rigs, so obviously those are modern additions. The tank is less than impressive (742, 1152 all overloaded) and it has the DPS of a t1 cruiser (500).

I'm guessing it's some variation of this fit, probably with a TD replaced for a web.
