I have a series of questions to confirm what I think I know and what I've heard or read. To have your own POS what is the minium system sec status it can be (0.6, 0.5, etc.)? And is it your standing with the particular race that owns the region before you will be allowed to ancor your POS?

Afaik there is no minimum sec.status, - you can setup your POS in lowsec too. Your Corporation need a base Faction Standing of 10 x Sec.status of the System.

From 0.4 to 0.7 you need 10x standing, plus charters.
It's the base (social skills don't matter) corporation standing for the sovereign faction, as a POS is a corporate structure.
From 0.0 to 0.3 there are no restrictions.

Does it go by the in-game displayed system security status, or the true system security status with 2 significant figures? I mean, if a system is 0.54 it will be shown as 0.5 in game, but would I require 5.4 or 5.0 to set up a POS in it?

Also, remember even if you are a one man corp, your standings don't necessarily equal your corp standings. The required standings are based on raw not effective standing.
There are a number of players that sell premade corps or act as "standing mercenaries" to raise your corp standing. Check out this page for a number of them http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=815331.

Another question to add to this. You have to raise your standings with the particular race that owns the system, correct? Not the NPC corps that own the stations? If so then would the corp have to do faction missions? Also, to clarify are those the same missions that come after every 15th regular mission or do you go to actual faction agents? Long winded, sorry, but I've heard conflicting answers.

You raise your standings with the Faction listed in the sovergnty info in the sistem you want to anchor the tower.
As long as the corp belongs to the faction you need they will give you the right storylines.
Every 16 missions (from what i have experienced)spawns a storyline from a the nearest storyline agent from your most recent mission, this can be from a different agent from a different corp that belongs to the same faction.
For example to reach 7.0 gallente stanings i ran couriers for fedmart, but did storylines from gauron investment bank. Achieved the same thing though as i have a 7.40 now irrc. ____________________________________________ When going to a party with wine, women, and song. So if in Minmatar space is where we want the POS...it doesn't matter for what NPC corp we do missions as long as that NPC corp is with the Minmatar Republic is all that matters.
