king jks tr0pa de elite Triumvirate.	Posted - 2009.08.11 23:37:00 - [1] Ok so ive been modelling again. Heres a preview of the Mk2 Tempest ive been working on. She is based on the original Tempest but with inspiration from some of the newest released Minmatar Designs. Lots and lots of work to do, textures need applying, details added, lights sorted, etc etc, but heres the basic idea for. Linkage

Cors It's A Trap	Posted - 2009.08.12 00:13:00 - [5] I always thought they should "retire" ships and bring out new Versions of them. Make the "Old Version" a collectors item. This would allow them to tweak ships over time, without "nerfing" them. They'd just retire the "old version" and bring out the "new and improved Mk2 version.

But nice work, the hard angles and lines make it with a slightly different paint look caldari... definitly a no no for coolness as u cruise from gate to gate to pos to pos to snipe bookmark...

The main hull seems to share some similarities with the Imperial shuttles, but the wings certainly don't. Really like the concept of both the modified Tempest and the Typhoon, would certainly make the ships more attractive to fly.

Just a bit confused, at first you say it's based of the original tempest, but with inspiration from the Haxian design, then you say it's based on the Haxian design. Personally, I think you've neither 'based' anything nor been 'inspired', you've just copied the image, and it's a nice job. Your scale and proportion is quite close. I'm interested to see your texturing work. I liked the textures from your last model. All the best, BROOL
Ronin Reborn Wrath of Fenris	Posted - 2009.08.12 16:37:00 - [20] The nozzle/engine/space motor/whatever on the back should be rectangular imo. Thats one of the biggest features of the tempest and changing it alters it's 'heritage' too much. Overall a clean design though.

Bomberlocks	Posted - 2009.08.12 18:54:00 - [23] I've been thinking about the Minmatar "rust bucket" look lately and I was wondering why some ships have changed in recent times (the Scythe looks very different to the original scythe and even the typhoon looks a bit different to the original one). One has to ask oneself at what point does the Minmatar Republic stop being a "rebel" state with limited resources and when does it start giving its ships a coat of paint, or a redesign. I like both the current Tempest and Typhoon more than the Maelstrom, but it would be nice for the Minnie ships to get a redesign (AFTER fixing the poor performance of large projectile weapons, of course).

5pinDizzy Amarr Caldari State 1st Protectorate	Posted - 2009.08.13 11:32:00 - [26] I like the tempest reinvision, though I think the dimensions seem off, either longer, taller... Also not so sure about the bottom sail placement. The typhoon one is horrible though, made by someone that doesn't appreciate the style, looks nothing like it and I thought it was a Hel mothership with a hole bored into the front.
