We got alot of noobs here trying to bump up these crapy low skills and over rated toons under 30 mill Sp. These is how you want to Bid.
1. Do not bid on any toon with a hidden buyout. If they want to sell you the toon for the right price they will list it.They just want to scam their way to an outrages price. 2. The average bidding per 1 million Sp is 200mil-300mil tops, if it does not add up to the buyout price don't buy it! It just opens the door to another scammer or someone just basing a sale of a like. 3. Look out for repeat sellers who use their alts to bump up bids. Use the search or just look at their previous post and match up any toon that helped him bump up in the past. 4. Know what your paying for. Do some research on how these toons should be trained to get your isk worth. Those who do not farm know what i am talking about. These farmers and herds are tainting this market and of course the sellers will ride this bi*ch till the fun is over.
If you can add some more input by all means guys add it. this crap has got to stop.

OP is an idiot - what you are complaining about is basic economics. If people are willing to pay more per sp, then that is what it's worth - unless they can get the same number or more SP's per ISk then it's not over priced.
Just because you can't afford to buy the character you want for the money you have doesn't mean it's overpriced - you're just too poor.
Also, why the hell is it a scam? Just because people manage to get a better than everage price for a product it doesn't make it a scam - that implies dishonesty or coercion. If people want to pay a premium for something then fine - but it's hardly a scam!
Perhaps everyone should have a forum emorage everytime they can't afford stuff they want - then people wouldn't think you're a complete tool.

Yup.
"Guys, guys, let's not pay more than 100-200mil per 1M SP. Then we'll drive the prices down and I can afford something!"

Also, T2 BPOs are only worth 2 years projected profits, so never bid more than that.

As has been pointed out above, you're in the wrong section of the forum. Post your complaints about character selling in the Character Bazaar please. |

Well, in OPs defense, CCP moved the thread. He did not post it in MD to begin with. So, CCP kinda decided that this was a market discussion. Tbh, I tend to agree with them. Characters are a commodity, just like plexes and GTCs.

Look its tranxion makes the rules day!
You don't have a monopoly on character selling so you can't set the price, you have to take the market price. It is good to be aware that alt bidding and fake sales can and do occur, but you can't say 1M sp is worth x isk. It varies with time. The days of ghost training are over and characters do take time to train. I suspect they will continue to trade over their plex funded value.

But you sir, are the one spreading the lies.
There are the rules of supply and demand, yes.
There are also such terms as loss and profit.
There is also a saying "He who asks is not the fool, but he who gives" or along those lines.
This means, that while prices are dictaded by supply and demand, it's the smart people who put in the effort and patience to make a profit off the trade, and the fools are the ones who pay over the median price.
The character bazaar is largely crowded with the sub section of the "minerals I mine are free and datacores I farm are free, because my time and opportunity don't have a value". It's just a different item on sale.
If you're planning on selling a character, you might as well try, and make a profit off of him, instead accepting those lowball bids and offers that most probably are made by character traders who understand these rules themselves anyway and are trying to make profit where you're losing it.
So I suggest that you go learn how to buy and sell, before you continue giving any more "advice". ------ Dare to challenge me? |

'An item is only ever worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it'.
Rather than posting threads like this try reading - take a book like "Wealth of Nations" By Adam Smith.
Also look at GTC prices, the recent rise in sale value of these would indicate that isk is becoming worth less relative to goods (and toons) just call it inflation. |
