In the last few days I notice a large number of people are selling their prized Tech II BPO's.
1. Do they know something about Shiva we do not? 2. Are they playing it safe? 3. Is the money just not there anymore?
# 3 I know is not really the case (unless you were silly enough to pay 13 Billion for the BPO since it will take a while to make you money back)
# 2 Possible, why take a chance.
# 1 Was there some information leaked to some people to tip them off? Sell now to buy more stuff later, maybe buy something good upon Shiva. Maybe the prints will drop in value to some new game mechanics. Maybe the monopolies will be dissolved with more Originals. Now of course this is only a conspiracy, but I would like to see how many "Valuable" T2 BPO's are sold in the next few weeks.
Well, we will find out why in a few weeks

Or, perhaps, there is so much hassle involved in building from them that people can't be bothered and would rather cash in on it?

People just want money. Plus most likely Tech II bpo's will be more commen Shiva, so might as well sell them off now for more ISK, then in Shiva for less ISK.
Just a thought. -----------------

Not everyone who does research is a dedicated builder. Many, like me, only sank a few days of training time into science skills in the faint hope of someday bagging a big blueprint and cashing in huge with comparably little effort. If I were to obtain a tech II blueprint, I wouldn't be arsed to research or rattle off a single copy.

The problem is that dedicated builders and researchers are selling bpo's. ------------- Tanya Raskov > e stvarno minmatar zidaju brodove tako sto odlome deo fabrike i nakace motore

Speaking from experience it seems to me that people just want to make the quick profit that can come from selling the BPO, and i can't say that I blame them. I have recieved an anathema BPO myself and have decided to give manufacturing a go because i have all the skills required. I can confirm that it is not an easy way of making money and will probably never see the sort of isk i could make from selling the BPo. The main reason behind my choice is that I didnt want to see one of the mega corps get a further strangle hold on ship supply

Mira Spellholde, why does your sig try to place a cookie on my computer?
I am very anoyed when people hide cookies in their sigs and would very much like for people to stop doing that.
I can see absolutely no good reason for anyone to tie a cookie to a sig.
I do however know such cookies can be used to track users and hack accounts, I have no Idea why you have it buy please stop.

Cookies can't hack your account or do anything, but yeah it sucks, probably free hosting.

Some of the tech 2 ship in my opinion are made redundant by battlecruisers and destroyers which are more accessible. Idle speculation here but that's my theory.

Edited by: Lester Mako on 10/10/2004 16:10:57 Here's the deal, its plain and simple economics:
You are blessed enough to find/steal/earn a Tech II BPO, You look at the components list and say, "Holy Crap, I can't buy all of this crap, the market is over inflated". So you find corps, like Xanadu, who are willing to pay BILLIONS for your BPO. If you keep the BPO the ugly part is that you will need to make many HUNDREDS of those items and that will take YEARS to regain your investment when you pay such a stupid a$$ price for a BPO.
Better to find a rich, well more isk than brains, run corp and sell your BPO for Ba-Zillions. It has nothing to do with Shiva. Buying a TechII BPO is not a sound decision at this moment.

Cookies themselves may not be able to hack anything but they can be used to track down the IP of the user and they can hide trojans.
Just cos its hard does not meen its impossible.
But my main reason for not wanting sigs to place cookies is cos its very anoying and the fact that I can see no reason why they should.
CCP should include that in their rules, no cookie setting sigs.

Problem is if tech II prints continue to be scarse and tech III require tech II modules and so on people will know the word monopoly and burn their boardgames in protest.

Tech III ?
That's like one year+ in the future man, and ccp can say anythign about how it'll work right now but I won't believe it for the next 6 months anyway. Since the tech2 introduction hasnt played out by a long shot i dont think you should take any so called decisions on tech3 too seriously just yet.
