Greetings
Our corporation is an experienced 0.0 pvp and industrial group with considerable assets we expanding at quite a pace into several areas of industry. As such we have decided to engage a funds manager to oversee and advise upon our empire market transactions. This individual can either be an independent out-sourced contractor or full corporate member. We are willing to accept offers from groups or corporations who specialize in this kind of market outsourcing with a view to establishing a relationship.
responsibilities: managing logistics from our empire frontier stations to the trade hubs buying and selling materials produced by the corporation at the trade hubs 'feeding back' market conditions to the industrial teams to meet demands and exploit opportunities establishing and managing the corporations capitol investments market trading where the opportunity arises to generate profit managing economic warfare, if required.
exclusions: some blueprint work, research and invention will remain in-sourced
requirements: an experienced person with a proven track record, evidence of experience either in the form of trade histories or references, good communication skills able to operate with initiative and to take ownership of, and responsibility for their work.
perks / pay this will be a 'black box' operation, material and ISK will be given to the applicant, as long as there is a profitable return overall, we are not concerned about skimming or embezzelment. - in brief; as long as more money comes out then goes in; use it however you want. If the applicant decided to join the corporation outright they will have access to a wallet devision and hanger devision to carry out their work. If the applicant decides to act as an independent contractor we will transfer and contract all the required material. We are willing to negotiate a salary / fees, however in such a case the applicant will be expected to work above and beyond our requirements and deliver exceptional service.
if you are intrested, please send myself a simple eve-mail, ideally we would like to have a trial running by the evening of the 14th of August. however this is a soft objective.

A few questions:
What main trade hubs is your corp near?
You mention being in charge of hauling goods from "empire frontier stations"...by this do you mean from low-sec, or just from remote locations.
If low sec, what security are you prepared to provide, if any, to the corp/individual moving your goods.
Also, if low sec, what is your contingency plan for if the hauler gets himself asploded in route from your drop off point to the trade hub?
What volumes are you planning on dealing with? T2 hauler, Orca, Freighter level production?
As far as market research, would you provide a list of items your corp produces in order to track just those items prices/trends, or are you looking to adjust your production based upon what the market is doing?
Or...are you just looking for someone to sell all your junk so you can concentrate on making small pieces out of large ships?

I was going to stay out of the thread, but in light of this statement:
I'd like to apply for the job. I don't think there's anyone more qualified, and I'm more trustworthy than Chribba. Mail me in-game with details on where to apply for the Corp ---

Stela'Artois - Excellent set of questions, pretty much covering everything I had to ask.
Korerin, I am interested in hearing the answers to these questions as my corp may be able to help. Networking is definitely underutilized in EVE's industry.

good questions, ill adress them in turn:
What main trade hubs is your corp near?
we are based in 0.0, so we are not near any. In the past we have worked out of amarr, tho Jita and Hek are probably a little bit closer, we preferr the slower market in amarr, but this is more then open for negoaition, we dont care where the applicant works from as long as the results are good
You mention being in charge of hauling goods from "empire frontier stations"...by this do you mean from low-sec, or just from remote locations.
This will be from the first full high-sec location after 0.0, eg: while in the drone refgions we operated from Moselgi.
What volumes are you planning on dealing with? T2 hauler, Orca, Freighter level production?
this depends on the state of 0.0 when we get there, if we have to fight to secure space then we will be dealing in drip-feeding and combat loot, along with perhaps some BPO's / BPC's from our reserch arm. In good times we will be dealing in minerals or manufactured goods, depending on what will offer the best return; the applicant will be in charge of giving us the low-down on the best ROI for our resource and effort.
As far as market research, would you provide a list of items your corp produces in order to track just those items prices/trends, or are you looking to adjust your production based upon what the market is doing?
probably the latter, we will have full access to high efficencey 0.0 production streams, so we can build vast ammounts of T1 items, with a trickle feed of T2 and T3 available going forward.
Or...are you just looking for someone to sell all your junk so you can concentrate on making small pieces out of large ships?
not at all, the corp has allwayse focused on creating a balence between PVP and Industrial actions; with our industrial arm now capible of building capital ships we are turning our focus onto making T2 / T3 and most importantly, making money (hence this thread)

Interesting proposal with the 'black box'
I honestly think you'll attract some good individuals, so long as you screen your candidates right.
Hell could even work as a model for other upstart null corporations and alliances. |

Thank you for the answers!
Sounds like you have a pretty decent sized operation you are proposing. I was interested, but I believe I am a bit too small fry to handle that level of hauling/reporting/marketing.
I'll still probably evemail you later on tonight. I work out of the Amarr area and would be happy to lend a hand in some way either doing some market reports of helping off load some goods.

Usually this kind of logistics + trade arrangement is made before moving to 0.0 and it's internally handled by some directors. - Auditing and consulting

We have internally handelled it in the past, which is fine, but we tend to just dump our loot onto buy orders in Jita or Amarr, and we never try any direct capital investment. Though we have a few people in the corp who are intrested in playing the market, none of them have the time or experience to do it well. And i have a feeling we are missing out on a lot of isk by not taking advantage of detailed market running.

Well, imho you should split the thing in two, we indeed have logistics officers (I am one of them) and appointed traders (supervisioned by a director) and also an economics director planning the best tactics to allocate resources, sales hubs etc.
I think you could outsource the logistics and also the trading, possibly making a set of 3rd party "packets" where you give X items and want Y money and the vendor keeps the Z - Y he makes.
Examples: while I cannot do the 0.0 => high sec part, I am specialized in Amarr (and all the surroundings) => Jita => Oursulaert hauling and also in trading a set of the items you can produce / loot.
In that case I'd pick such a subset of what I am good for, while someone else would maybe be very good with the 0.0 => hi sec haul but then he'd not know how to profit off T2 / meta / officer drops so he'd just do that part of the task.
An alt of your corp parked ie in Amarr would act as middle man and turn the various sources and destinations into a coherent stream of income.

Edited by: Aelisha on 14/08/2009 12:00:40 Hello there.
If you want to talk about the possibility of wholesale to my corporation to prevent the inherent security issues of hiring people into 'trusted' positions, I will be online from 2200 eve time tonight till 0000 eve time.
I am more than happy to discuss a mutually agreeable contract to buy up items you wish to compete on the market with.
