Lurking these Forums I have noticed that the Loki seems to get a lot of stick as a horrible t3..
Why all the hate?
From what I can see it can do the following well
-Bastard Child of the Vagabond/Rapier (Or a Vagabond/Huggin)
-Very good, yet very expensive covert ops/Exploration Boat
-Wicked Buffer tanks (200K EHP t2 Fit w/out implants)
-A very good Ninja Ratter (400 DPS w/Covert Reconfig and Interdiction Nullifier)
I understand that some of the t3's can do the same job and in some cases might do it better.
But seriously. Why all the hate?
Everywhere I go I need to take lots of Duct-tape =( |

No one actually hates the Loki, it's still more useful than the Legion.

Rapier awesome?? what have you been smoking since november. I mean you need 3 webs these days to slow 1 ship down which leaves you with barely any tank left. Plus you need a SeBo to actually lock a ship in time.
Vaga is average, only the broad is good.
Why the loki sucks it does hardly any damage, most people use T3 ships for plexing, the loki doesnt do enough dps at long range to do that well. The loki would always have to approach the enemy ship first which takes time.

Has anyone actually flown the Legion before giving it negative comments?...I doubt that TimMc has for starters...
I've personally not flown a Loki but from looking at its subsystems I would say it is a very capable ship. Each have their strengths and weaknesses - it's just a case of finding a balance in the setup that YOU need or want, not what 'forum' or 'EFT' warriors depict.

The loki doesn't get much mention because its as obviously awesome as the tengu (well caldari-***s thing its all that anyway) and isn't as astonishingly poor as the legion.
Like a lot of minmatar ships, it doesn't do epic dps, and so naturally the forums don't like it.
If you fit it right, the Loki can be a vaga with extra pwnful webs, which is reason enough to like it if you ask me.
Basically the Loki doesn't EFT into a 1000dps WTFBBQ ship, or have the same 1000dps OMGTANK ship.

You can technically with just t2..
but why would you want to is the question.....
I do plan to get one of these personally. Sometime in the middle of next year. I'm liking what I'm seeing though. SOme obviously don't because Proteus = Sex to them

I have. I'm on my second one, since I'm an Amarr ****. It truly is an inferior ship in many regards.

Loki is by far the most unpredictable of T3s
So many different configurations for it. It can be a Vagabond, it can be a Sleipner, it can be a Rapier, or something inbetween a Muninn and a Hurricane, and I'm sure there's plenty more.
It's problem really is it's not a whole lot better than said ships at those roles, but it's by no means a bad ship and IMO far better than the Legion.

this. It doesn't have a gimick that is "better" then T2 counterparts. Like the Proteus does with the EHP potential
