Claw, Crusader, Crow and Taranis is what i like to refer to as dogfighters. They are interceptors with an extra dmg bonus (or extra turret in the case of the crusader), instead of tackle range, and great speed compared to other frigates. Great for solo and small gang combat.
Before the the MWD and Web change one could fight other interceptors in Crusader and Claw by fitting a MWD and Webifier in the mid slots, and thus be able better control range. Which basically is what dogfigting is all about; trying to maintain the enemy ship at a distance where your turrets/ammo or launchers is superior to his.
With the latest change of warp scrambler and web efficiency reduction the Crusader and Claw is rendered practically helpless against the other interceptors that have a 3 mid slot lay out.
Please make the Claw and Crusader what they once were; great dogfighters.
Give them another mid slot.
thx

I use a Taranis... best interceptor in my opinion as a crow does have the ability to control the range at 24km, with understanding of dog fight maneuvers in eve you can quickly close the gap even if he has much larger speed than you. As for 3 mid slots... I'm not sure. Do you really just want a clone of the Taranis for your race? I mean if you want more mids you'll have to cut back on speed to be fair.

The Claw and Crusader both receive a hefty tracking bonus which allows them to use long-range T2 ammo with minimal penalty, thus negating their need for absolute range control (effective in 1-10km envelope). Taranis on the other hand is a blaster ship (or it loves to have blasters fitted!) so the ability to control range is paramount, hence it has three mid slots.
I see no need to change what is already immensely fun and powerful ships in their own right.

I agree with you on the Taranis,, even tho i dont fly it myself. It is a fearsome dogfighter. If you want to compare the Claw to the Taranis you must not forget the dmg output a neutron fitted Taranis has. With drones and overloaded turrets it does over 300 dps. Only chance a Claw has is to maintain the range at around 6000-7000m. Something that would be a challenge even with 3 mid slots.
The Taranis is sort of a special case with its high dps, but the same happen if you put a Claw/Crusader up against any of the other interceptors. They will all either dictate range where they have the advantage or disengage at will.
Regarding tracking and keeping range: Almost all of the turret interceptors got a tracking bonus, this is not something the Claw and Crusader got as compensation for only having 2 mid slots. Overloading has made it impossible for an interceptor to be able to kite another Interceptor, or any other mwd fitted frigate for that matter. Because the kiter wont see that the other has overloaded its mwd untill its to late.
I do not think it would be unfair to give them an extra mid slot, rather it would give them a fair chance to do what they were designed to do.

They look different. That's enough for me. No need for one to be less then the other.
As long as they don't look identical, I can live with this change. Visuals are more fun to look at then stats. One makes you better, one makes it more enjoyable. Let them be the same for less worry imho.

argh people, stop requesting flattening of eve races already. Its great there is not all the same, just cross train for a particular ship you want to fly instead of wanting the stuff all the same!!

Crusader doesn't need a boost. I'm a crusader pilot.
