definitely not worth it, not all. no 2% damage is worth 50+ days. Some ships are ok, Hac V is ok if you fly them often. ceptor if you fly them realy often and so on but 50+ days for 2% ... thats not worth it. there is so much better things to train fore. Some shild skills, Leadership skills- can boost yourself emensly if you have some alt or friend in system Up your armor compensation skills before you go with gun specs Navigation can use some love, way better then 2% damage, with speed control you can achieve that more of your roh dps actually hit and avoid getting hit. Your probing skills can be better if you need them Then of course , you can easily crosstrain. what gives you a great advantage in pvp being able to fly the ship fore the job. and you can fly some ships with weapon systems of other races. but there are so many w8sted skill points you already invested to pimp out your stats, just not profitable. But i think your mined is already sett an no one can convince you to not maxing everything out.

The specializations to V is NOT worth it for you; you still have more important things to train before even thinking about wasting time on that, especially once you get to medium/large specializations. Train your plain Gunnery skills to V, then the Gunnery specializations to IV. That is more than enough.

if you have a set of ships that you fly a lot and you have maxed all the other general gunnery skills, ship command skills, tanking skills, cap skills etc. then it is worth it.
I've trained medium AC and pulse specs to 5 for the added damage and not regretted it, i haven't done a large turret spec as i fly BS in larger gangs only where it's not so worth it whereas i fly the medium stuff in smaller gangs and solo where the extra is always nice especially on top of a good implant set.
nothing wrong with taking ship command skills to 5, especially those that work for all races.

Opps, I probably should have let eve sheets load instead of closing it. In that case you already have the best lvl5 there is, train whatever you want. á á

One thing that screams out to me is getting that Iron Will to level 5. Fast and essential for your needs. ---

If you like flying a ship, train the ship skill to 5. It makes a worthwhile difference IMO

what most people dont UNDERSTAND is... on gun spec you get 2% per lvl of spec. dont sound like much BUT! thats 2% per gun per volly. so if you have 5 guns at spec 5 thats an extra 10% per volley 2% x5 and over time it adds up to a lot of damage.

really depends on your future plans. I'm personally getting my cap ships b4 I would even think about or consider training large spec. to 4 or 5. hac 5 etc.. not bad. bc 5 for command ships usefull also for solo pvp.
training is something you need to figure out on your own.

WTF!? The only part that is correct is: Quote: thats 2% per gun per volly.
If each gun does 100 damage, five will do 500. With a 2% bonus it's 102 each or 510 for five.
On topic, there's gotta be better things than tranining a Rank 8 skill for about a month for a 2% bonus. You could almost train lvl 5 in both other large turret types giving you a lot of extra flexibility and enabling use of all T2 turrets (small/medium skills excepted ). If you don't have anything else you'd rather train and you really want to focus on that weapon type, it's a small edge maybe, but there's more worth getting up first. Save it for when you go on holiday sometime. -------------

I wish math would work like this where I live... I'd put all my money on a lot of different bank accounts and watch the interest roll in. -----------------------------------------------

Sometimes getting something to level 5 is more of a personal gratification thing . Like getting a skill catagory maxed out or something . All Learnings to 5 or all gunnery supports to 5 for instance . The cool thing about level 5 is : when its done , its done for life

Well until you get podded without a proper clone zoom zoom.
Also, to the OP, I can't see your skill sheet but don't do it until way later in the game and you really think you have nothing left to train sans cross-training. You should be sitting on 50/60m SP before you even consider it and even then it's questionable.

I am thinking about torpedo spec 5, but that is because I love torpedoes, and well am getting close to not having anything better to train.
I'd make a more specific comment but apparently eve sheet doesn't work with the api disabled. although from the other responses it seems like you have better things to do with your time for now.

I did rail spec 5 just because i did'nt have anything else to train up, since i rarely use blasters that spec stay on 4. If you want to get as much damage as possible from your guns thats one of the steps you have to take to get there

all to level 5? Definitely not. Most skills have far to little impact to warrant several days of training.
Then there are some lvl 5 requirements and some skills really are worth it like Drones and Drone Interfacing (where else do you get +20% damage?) or things like Electronics (because you can use it on every last ship).
But generally lvl 4 is totally enough... ---------------------------------------------- The glass is neither half full nor half empty. It's just twice as big as it need to be... |

Interesting discussion. After having a break to love my much neglected missile skills, I'm paying some attention to gunnery. As well as whittling away at AWU 5 for that full t2 large rack, I'm maxing whatever else I can in that category, although some of the training times are so long that I'll no doubt do other things in the meantime, if that makes sense. I'm currently looking at:
Skill plan for Passageway
Rapid Firing V (5 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, 32 seconds) Motion Prediction V (7 days, 5 hours, 27 minutes, 9 seconds) Surgical Strike V (14 days, 10 hours, 54 minutes, 19 seconds) Controlled Bursts V (7 days, 5 hours, 27 minutes, 9 seconds) Trajectory Analysis V (18 days, 1 hour, 37 minutes, 54 seconds) Advanced Weapon Upgrades V (21 days, 16 hours, 3 minutes, 28 seconds) Large Railgun Specialization IV (5 days, 2 hours, 38 minutes, 59 seconds) Medium Blaster Specialization II (2 hours, 23 minutes, 45 seconds) Medium Blaster Specialization III (13 hours, 33 minutes, 2 seconds) Medium Blaster Specialization IV (3 days, 4 hours, 39 minutes, 22 seconds) Large Blaster Specialization I (49 minutes, 22 seconds) Large Blaster Specialization II (3 hours, 49 minutes, 58 seconds) Large Blaster Specialization III (21 hours, 40 minutes, 53 seconds) Large Blaster Specialization IV (5 days, 2 hours, 38 minutes, 59 seconds)
with blasters as they are at the moment, they're a fairly low priority
