They will:
a) not remain not top ranked and b) have lived up to EVE's true backstabbing nature.

CCP earns a hell of a lot more money the second way? Which I'm all for, really.

will they spend the money earned from dust on eve?
i hope so, since they have apparently spent the money we paid them to improve eve on dust. ------ I, for one, welcome our new console overlords! |

The money being spent on dust is directly effecting eve. You don't think all that texture work can only be applied to a console game? This is all directly usable by eve for wis and beyond. Love the look of that planet in the command pit pic? Well it can also be put into eve. Artwork is the biggest time eater of anything you can do in developing any game and ccp just effectively developed two games for the price of one. How is that for spending your sub fee wisely?

I believe they'll spend it on paying dividends to their shareholders, actually. You know, like corporations are supposed to.

Pssst. All of the money spent on either game still goes to the same place, CCP. And like every other gaming company up there, they make their own decisions on which products (including new ones in development) get a share of those funds.
I'll give you time to come to terms with that before I expand your mind with the fact that EVE funds likely been going into the development of World of Darkness as well.
Really... get a grip.

CCP is a private company so it has no masses of public stockholders to pay off.

No, but it does still have shareholders. And they do still like seeing a return on their investment. Or plowing it into buying companies, or developing new games, or whatever. Point is, this isn't tax money that is supposd to be held in reserve and spent on things to benefit the people who paid it. CCP is a corporation selling a service. Once we have purchased that service, the money belongs to CCP, not to us. They'd be perfectly justified spending it on a shareholder's meeting at a hooker-and-weed shop in Amsterdam, the fact that we're getting a hopefully-good game instead is just gravy.
Seriously, the level of entitlement among some people here is unbelievable. (not you personally)

Yes, kudos to CCP, if I were a shareholder I'd be ecstatic. At best right now I'm ambivalent. _________________________________________________

NPC's would behave like drones, attacking the wrong thing 100% of the time unless you manually control them all.
dust squad will eliminate and pwn much faster and effectively. --------------------------
