I put the blame for the spastic forum spamming solely on the shoulders of the players on this one. All CCP did is provide an initial glimpse into what their next new vision for their IP is. The eve players have decided to read so much into this, creating a complete **** storm of misinformation and conjecture that, if anything, only delays CCP's response. Why throw anything into this mess, instead of waiting for it to die down a bit, THEN start some real discussion on the matter?

Edited by: Zirator on 19/08/2009 10:25:01 It would be great if CCP
a: opens a subforum dedicated to this new game because the general section is currently flouded with OMG DUST topics. b: CCP starts communicating towards their playerbase which has been loyal to them over many many years, yes I know interviews were given at the GDC but as far as I can tell no official info has been posted on this forum outside the press release that's on the front page
So CCP start giving us information please and at least share some information about which area of EVE it will affect. Most important question will it affect 0.0 yes or no!
I've allready given my opinion about Dust in another topic and I remain with my point that I'm not that excited about the mixing of PC-mmo crowd with the console crowd. But that's a decision that's up to CCP.
However I've seen the video yesterdaynight and what was shown was awesome but knowing CCP the demo was made in the same way CCP makes their official EVE-videos.
Last thing I want to say is that I consider it to be a major slap in the face of the loyal playerbase of EVE to release this game console only.

How about you relax and calm down and WAIT. The world is not ending, the sun is shining. All we know is that we know almost nothing. They will tell us when they think they are ready for it.

You seriously expect adult EVE emo's to have
a: patience b: a laid back attitude c: an interest in going outside and enjoy the sun

Next new vision? They're working on it for at least two years now. Hardly new, or merely a "vision", is it? |

At least the hacking spam is disappearing off the front page rather quickly these days.

As soon as that bit of dust info came out surely ccp would of known this would happen. And I'm sorry but they have obviously been working on this for sometime so ccp know exactly how it will effect eve because you don't develop a game without that..there is no need to wait they know they just need to share!! Just taking your players for idiots..

They dropped a bomb on EVE Online, mostly by stating DUST514 is console only and will influence sov.
What did you or CCP expect?
With DUST514 I predict the last bastion of mmorpg vision will crumble, and CCP will have pulled their very own NGE.

Did know the avg forum dweller was quite vocal but didn't expect it to get pathetic like this. Tons of people jumping to silly conclusions without having the patience to wait for more details is astonishing. Makes some fine drama nevertheless.
