Obviously, if there were broken mechanics here, we could totally count on you to be right there with us whining. It's not like you or your alliance stand to gain anything by the way things are now, right?
To the rest of this thread: Please don't feed the trolls.

I know some cadmium/hromium moon with a vanilla medium POS on them. I don't know a single prom/dyspro moon that isn't a faction large...
And then there is the defense fleet you can expect, I'd rather take anyone's POS but PL's... -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

There have been massive game play changes in the last 3 months?

You even managed to miss the timeframe which you quoted.

You know, theoretically speaking... Of course, in practice, you will dump the meanest possible defence on the resource that's worth x30, because even if you hold it just 1 month, it's as if you held one of the others for nearly two years. But that was the whole point of it all - that there's way too much of a pricetag difference between the most valuable ones and the next most valuable ones... and that the only reason the "next valuable ones" are in that place (financially speaking) is because of alchemy and its conversion ratios.
I would have much rather have seen alchemy reactions where neodymium and thulium would replace dysprosium and promethium in a 1:1.25 ratio, and maybe ALSO alchemy reactions that replace dysprosium/promethium with caesium, hafnium, mercury, technetium at a 1:5 ratio... but nooooo, it had to be 1:20 and third tier rarity moon minerals ONLY.

Nor is it a money printing bpo either... u accualy gotto continue to work to be able to keep it. Someone owned it before PL and they still died. Exactly like Goons didnt get Born with delve either, all those moons didnt help bob/kenny so isk is only 1 of many factors in pvp/warefare.
Never claimed you were born there and I just used PL/fountain as an example could be basically any 0.0 region. I know the basic history behind PL being created in low sec and npc 0.0 (syndicate if i've been informed correctly) and that you took stuff there and eventually managed to take fountain from bruce, I don't know the exact chain of events but it seemed to me that when you attacked bruce they were near failure and you managed to push them over the edge. If that was thanks to you alone or just dumb luck or a combination I don't know.
As for bob/kenny losing Delve. Would they have lost it if their director hadn't become disgruntled?
Sure isk isn't the sole determining factor but it is the by far most important one when treachery is discounted.
Just to clarify, I'm not saying that dysp/prom should be nerfed into oblivion. I just think that rarity should mean something. The income that now comes soley from dysp/prom should be more evenly distributed among the rest of the r64's as that make sense. Maybe have a +/- 20% difference between the different moons in one rarity class. Your income would stay the same apart from that you would have to care more about all the other kinds of moons and not only the 36 prom/dysp in fountain.

Don't rogue drones mine? They already have funky alloys in their cargo. Couldn't we assume they are mining moon stuff as well for their own production and have bits of it drop?
I like the idea of dynamic moon materials though. Mining until you empty the vein you're currently mining and then finding another on the moon would make sense.

Yes, as for probing moons, send your local DUST team out to locate new caches or to ambush the other guys prospectors.

In the way the T2 ships price is going I won't fly a T2 any time soon.
I hope they can fix Alchemy or the moon mining.
Soon the T2 will be more expensive than T3.

There is a third option. There was a Dev Blog (or it might have been a dev post) a while back which outlined it.
Adjust the form of the Mud/Gold system. At present, if you claim a moon, it will either be solid mud (Atmospheric gasses) or solid gold (Dyspro) (or solid tin, zinc...etc). The suggestion was made however that moons could be set up so that they were both mud and gold. Your moon miner would pull out a certain quantity of Atmospheric gasses, a small amount of Platinum and a tiny speck of Dyspro. The really good moons would yield less mud and more gold but the bad moons, while yielding more mud, would still yield a little gold.
The Dyspro moon "monopoly" would therefore be impossible to maintain, any corp mining a moon would have small quantities of rare minerals to use or get rid of - and that is where the prices start to come down. Corps who have no use for Dyspro for example would dispose of it for whatever they could get, those needing the money quickly would sell low. traders would gather the low priced stuff and sell it in bulk, for a profit, and the market would adjust the prices according to supply and demand.
Ooh, look kids! LOGIC! That's a rare and precious thing these days! My further suggestion would be scannable belts in losec that contain small amounts of moongoo in mineable format. Note I did not say nosec, or hisec. I said losec.
