Another vote for the geddon. Great ship for level 3 agent missions: Large drone cap, rof bonus, and no ammo costs.

Battleships kill quickly but lose a lot of time collecting loot.
I usually use a Maller with 5 named focused medium beams and support modules for an optimal range of up to 44 km (outside heavy missile range) and an mwd.
Tanked and protected against all eventualities so that I can take a leak when I feel like it and get a fresh cold one at my leisure. Man's gotta be practical...

There is no "best" anything in this game... what works for you all depends on your style, your skills, your real life skills in terms of driving the things, combined with some common sense, which can be found in these forums.
If you want an opinion, for me an Armageddon works really well. I can use it for just about any lvl 3 hauling or killing missions (I tweak the setup for the missions, keep extra hardeners, overdrives, and expander 1s in the cargo hold). I tend to keep a mix of medium and heavy drones in the bay and tailor the ones I carry to the NPC's I am fighting. I use the heavies for Crusier rats and the medium's for the frigates that get too close. I also carry a webber for the elite frigates that web and warp scramble: Web, release the medium hounds, pop the cruisers with the mega's while my drones chew up the firgate.

There is a best!
Dominix, warp in at 15km release the drones, activate armor repairer, sit back and watch the show.5 minutes later collect loot 1 to 20km away depending on target.

A corp mate uses a crow, it's kinda slow but does the job, I'm currently using a jag. _________________________________________________________

Me too. (5) heavy launchers w/ tbolts, Cap, mwd, emp and kenetic hardeners, marked power generator and med armor repair. Works well so far. I used to have to warp out in the middle of mordus missions. Now, as long as I stay ahead of the katanas, I'm ok. Consider having a caracal as a backup mission ship.
