Far be it from me to side with whiny miners as I myself ganked my fair share of them, but I have came up with a realistic solution to the 'Hulkagedon' issue.
1. Stop whining and mine in low-sec or wh space. (if you don't know how, or don't want to, that isn't my problem)
2. profit
OR
CCP can launch off a new brand of ORE class ship that can withstand an attack for more then three seconds. Give them a battleship sized tank but the yield of a Covetor. Hell, make them massive things that can withstand huge amounts of punishment but are so slow that they're simply sitting ducks in anywhere but high sec and unrealistic to use in low/null/wh space because the regular exhumars have so much more yield.
Just a thought. The first option is more viable imo. |

It shouldn't be considered an exploit to escape from concord, you should be able to warp while you have a GCC, Wormholes should permit you to jump while you have GCC and concord ships should behave like actual ships and not do magical bullshit like reducing your drone bandwidth to 0.
That's how you "fix" suicide ganking. |

OP how does any of your comments fix a freighter from getting ganked.
Or the industrial ship that gets ganked.
Or the cruiser that got ganked .
You said you had the fix for ganking but you haven't addressed these very important issues.

I think it'd be neater to go the other way, faster, more agile exhumers that targer fast, acquire ore fast, align fast....but less cargo so they fill up fast. Nitpicking asteroids under the enemies nose like the bothersome flies miners are . .. ... ....

well considering mittans and goonswarms thing maybe the title should be how to 'fix hulkageddon from a CCP point of view'
A mining battleship can pull as much as a retriever but isn't really a valid solution.
Lets say you are a interstellar corporation and your primary money making machines are getting destroyed left and right. What do you do? To stay in business you would beef up those ships to make sure you're product was still relevant in an evolving market. Also lets say you're also being backed by a giant galactic power, don't you think they would take over and force the evolution of that company?
Just trying to put things in a RP and a RL perspective. |

At first I was going to do it to make money while AFK, but now I've decided I want to see if I can play this cat and mouse game with everyone. I see potential to be more entertaining than most gate camps, roams, and fleet ops I've ever been in.

From an RP perspective the corporation that the Hulk was created by profits from the sale of mining barge blueprints and doesn't produce mining barges at all.
The actual producers of mining barges are capsule corporations which are effectively producing a design based on licensed blueprints, they don't create any new thing themselves. These corporations profit based on the demand for the thing that they build, and a ship is something that most individuals will purchase one of and then continue to use that same ship until they need to replace it. Subsequently it is desirable for the manufacturer of the barges for their customers to need to replace their ship as often as possible.
Furthermore, because the demand for a blueprint is based on the amount of profit that can be made by producing the item it is for and the sustainability of that profit it is desirable to ORE for the ships they design provide as much profit for the manufacturer as they can.
If the end user is dissatisfied with the performance of the product then they should stop constantly buying it over and over again and switch to something else that better suits their needs. Buying a product and then immediately buying another one as soon as the old one doesn't work anymore won't pressure a company into changing their product, in reality it will just make them try and reduce the time to replacement to as little as possible so you end up buying even more of them.
If hulks aren't good enough then when do all miners fly hulks? |
