Ok, I'll bite, not in alignment with what?
I keep getting this error when trying to anchor my second harvester for my POS. The control tower is anchored and on line and first Harvester after a stuggle (same message) finally anchored. I tried anchoring by both right clicking on the harvester and also by using the control pannel and doing there.
I tried the four arrows centered on the harvester and centered in the green box. I believe my first harvester was centered on the harvester its self.
Is it a distance problem? Currently my first harvester is 5km from the control tower and I tried placing the second one 2.5 km, 5km and 7.5km from both the control tower and the first harvester.
Since quite a few other people have managed to get their POS on line I know I am doing something wrong, I just can't figure out what it is. Any guidance you can give me would be great.

This is not something you should see. The green arrows used to move the placement box, should take care of only allowing the placement centering box in valid positions. For some reason for you, its not sending a box position to the server that is valid.
The only error message I get is that the anchoring positions I choose are too close to some structure or other.
I do not understand your description of how you used the green arrows on the placement centering box. You are dragging the arrows to get the box to jump to the next placement position right?
Is anyone else experiencing this? -- Richard CCP Programmer. Anything said above is not the official line, but my own take or opinion. |

No, I was using the grey arrows to center them within the green box.
After seeing your post I moved one of the grey arrows until the green box snapped to a new position then tried anchoring it. I was still getting the alignment error after doing that. I finally figured out that right clicking on the structure then selecting anchor or selecting the structure in the manage stucture window and clicking on anchor doesn't work it only gives you the alignment error.
What works is to right click on one of the grey arrows around the green box and it will bring up the option to anchor or cancel. Select anchor and you are set.

Edited by: Lewis Douglas on 14/10/2004 09:51:49 The not in alignment message happened to me also and was related to the fact that is was still bringing one of the structures online (onlining status). Please check all structures for still being in a state to become anchored or going online. I noticed you can anchor or bring-online only 1 structure at a time. If the problem still persists, check if going offline and online again?

I got the same message, i.e., "cannot anchor this array because it is not in alignment" message by using the "Anchor" button, on the "Structure" tab, in the Control Tower "Manage" window to try to anchor an array that I launched from my Industrial. I was able to anchor the array when I used the arrows to drag the array and right-clicked to "anchor here". If you don't want us using the Control Tower button for anchoring, it should not be there.
