We only get that if moving from a large ship to a smaller one... and there isn't enough space for the larger one to fit in the SMA.

I am not sure I entirely understand, but you can open the drone bay from the fitting window, bottom left and load/unload drones that way. Is that helpful?

I agree, would be lovely, or a "personal hanger array" that allows individual storage, possibly with user configurable access for others.

Not really needed, if you really want ore compression or simplifying logistics then build a Rorqual inside the WH. A Rorq is the appropriate tool for mass-mining operations... WH's shouldn't be made too easy, the additional logistics are the draw-back of doing a WH on the cheap.
My own Observations:
I really like the balance between the randomness (short life) and predictability (in terms of how long that life is) of WHs. It feels like being in a very fickle carrier that drops you somewhere different in k-space every day or two.
As a small alliance of tiny corps, it is really nice to have access to content that is 0.0 security and (for us) reasonably profitable if done right. We wouldn't stand a chance in regular null-sec under the current system unless we paid rent to someone, which would remove our freedom to do as we please. Things may be different now we've had experience of 0.0 security space...
Logistics, patrols, rapid combat response and so forth have helped every member to rapidly improve our meta-skills (like PvP, logistics managements) as well as invigorating us to both play more, and as a results we've had lots of fun.
I know visitors don't like it as they tend to come off worse, but living here has been great practice at scanning people down, catching them and dispatching them.
The biggest mistake another person made is when they dropped a new POS in 'our' WH without scanning the system first, it didn't last long.
With the PvP/logistics practice we've now had, I really hope the Sov changes make regular 0.0 space accessible to smaller alliances and corps that don't want to fold into the big incumbents. |
