Eve mottos: Adapt or die, Eve is hard, HTFU

When I joined I didnt read: Eve is fair, Highsec is safe, WOTF ([joke] whine on the fourms [/joke]) . There are ways round hulkageddon and other avenues to take in this sandbox, but there seems to be a number of players who think they are above eve and feel so entitled that CCP should adapt the game to THEM rather than the other way round. So please if you are one of these people, just quit and give me your stuff, nobody reads amazing story's about the multi-boxing macro/afk miner and decide to join eve, they read about the BOB/Goon war, they look at R&K videos, read wormhole storys, the great scam etc. Its no lie when people say you wont be missed.

Best part about EVE is most of these rules are player-created, so you know they're made by jerks. On the flip side, player-made rules are not as binding as official ones, so the freedom is still there - it's just repressed. Do something about it? Once again, folks like you fail to realize that "HTFU and "adapt or die" and all that cuts both ways. Let me give you an example: Bob: "High sec should be safe!" Tim: "No. HTFU. Adapt or die! GTFO!" This is how you see it. And here's a flipside of that same coin. Bob: "High sec should be safe!" Tim: "No." Bob: "HTFU. Adapt or die! GTFO!" See how that works? Uhhuh...

An interesting take on things, perhaps then all this forum whining is just another aspect of eve warfare, I like the thought but I doubt it to be honest.

This is pretty accurate. I will admit that when I first started (I actually trialed the game several times on various trial accounts), I didn't read any of the stuff that I should have. Not because it wasn't SHOVED IN MY FACE, but because I just wanted to play & not read a bunch of stuff, so I clicked past it all. I didn't even do the tutorials. After being killed by people a few times I decided to read a bunch of stuff on the forums. I was a little peeved at first, but soon realised that this is how the game works. I accepted that simple fact, my gameplay experience improved vastly. I can now look back & accept that everything that happened to me in the early days was solely my own fault. Unfortunately, not everyone can see it that way & EVE has become invaded by the people with a huge sense of entitlement that have had their every whim catered to in every other game they've played. Possibly yes, but that's introducing a NEW mechanic that also goes against the statement "eve is hard" if you can just pay2win. suicide ganking is nothing new, the only thing that has changed is the number of players who feel that CCP should protect them from pvp I didnt mean to say that people shouldn't complain about game mechanics of eve, but eves style of pvp is arguably a founding aspect and it is what sets it apart from other games.
