OK so i am mission running for a amar corp (ministry of war) trying to save up LPs to buy a navy apoc.
With the lastest patch cpp reduced the cost of them to FW ppl. When you join FW is that like joining a new corp that you need to earn LP for to buy stuff from their store? (at the reduced price) Or can i use my MoW LP to buy a cheaper apoc and get to play in FW?
what happens when you join FW? -is it instant join? -if i dont like it how do i leave? timeframe? -if i join amar FW am i safe in amar high sec space? I mean if someone is in minm FW navy will my npc navy in say the amar system shoot them? Can they have ok standing with amar and fly around my high sec space fighting me?
Also how do i get a nightmare? i looked on the market and contracts every day for a couple of weeks now to just see the price and i have not seen one yet..
finally i just got into a normal apoc last night and i wondered how to get longer range targeting? what skills and modules i should be using? My optimal/falloff is farther than i can target currently. What setup do people use to reach out and touch enemies at 150km? If i wanted to get out to say 100km what setup should i use for an apoc? t2 beams/pulses are about a month and a half off still...:(

FW LP is Militia LP. The Militia is a separate corp, with their separate LP shop and so on. Just like how you can't use LP from one corp with another corp... well, you get the idea.
If you join as a person, you actually get moved to the militia. If you are in a player corp with the needed standings, the whole corp can "ally" with the militia instead. There's a 24h delay for this both when joining and leaving. Only people inside or allied with the militia can get missions from militia agents.
You're slightly safER in your own (or allied) territory. NPC navy ships will spawn to kill enemies, but there's a limited number of total spawns and each spawn has only a certain limited firepower, so a well-organized enemy militia group could theoretically act with impunity in your territory. Case in point, the Gallente militia raids in Jita soon after FW was introduced. They either tweaked the response power or the raiders lost interest, because I haven't heard of any such raids lately.
A "Nightmare" is a Blood Raider ship. Want one, either buy one from somebody who has one, or go work for the Blood Raiders. Of course, they might not like you enough to let you work for them even if you train up diplomacy (hope you didn't kill too many of them already), and they're only "available" in 0.0 (so I hope you are ready to get killed again and again by the locals once you get there, and several times over before, while you try to get there). Of course, you could be lucky enough to have access to those guys and manage to get in the local population corp/alliance, then you're good to go. There's still occasional raiders to contend with, but I guess that's less horrible.
About that range on an apoc... well, obviously, Sharpshooter and Amarr Battleship will help first and foremost. Or, you could use tracking computers (with optimal range script, midslot) or tracking enhancers (lowslot). Getting T2 lasers so you can use the long-range ammo is a huge improvement though... only a month and a half away ? That's not much at all. But meh, the damage profile isn't that great on the long-range ammo. Meh.

I can't answer FW questions, but here are answers to your others:

Look on contracts, and you'll see the ship and blueprint copies for it. All faction items, including ships, with the exception of ammunition, are sold exclusively through the contracts system. You'll never see them on the market.

Sensor booster, mid slot module (either without a script or with a 'targeting range' script. You may have to fit two of these in order to target out to the maximum range of your weapons if they're loaded with long range crystals. The skill 'Long Range Targeting' will also help you lock more distant targets.

I wish it was. It is a Sansha ship. The BR battleship is the Bhaalgorn.

I always confuse those two with eachother They shoot the same damage types, are weak to the same damage types, have pretty much the same enemies, why the heck did they even bother making them separate ?

All the "pirate" ships are hybrid ships that require two different ship skills to fly, that's just how CCP designed them. ---

Make sure you are searching all regions, and type "nightmare" into the description and hit "get contracts" button. There are at least 8 for sale, and a similar number of blueprints.
Price for the ship, currently, is in the mid-high 900M range. The blueprint runs about 100M less. These prices are typical for pirate faction battleships. The bhaalgorn and machariel tend to run 100M or so less, historically, as they are not in as high a demand.
