Atm i have refining 4 and veldspar processing at 3, according the the refining panel ingame i got 90,5% net yield on veldspar, but i've heard its a bit bugged and doesn't take into account the ore processing skills.
So how do you go about calculation what my real net yield is? Since i already got 90,5% and the ore processing skill gives me 5% (which means i get 15% with a skill lvl of 3) for each skills, my guess would be that i get 105.5%, but my other guess is that it's probably not that simple.
So could anyone help me out?

Edited by: Medwynd on 28/08/2009 17:55:06 Effective Refining Yield = Station Equipment Yield + 0.375 * (1 + (Refining Skill Level * 0.02)) * (1 + (Refining Efficiency Skill Level * 0.04)) * (1 + (Ore Specific Processing Skill Level} * 0.05))

Get refinery efficiency 5 and you'll be set in any station with 50% refine equipment.

While we are talking about it... what is the standing you need for 0% tax??? 6.5??? ---- a reply which adds nothing to a thread or results in a thread being bumped with no new discussion worthy content is considered spam and as such warrants a forum ban |

But if he is mining as well, might as well train the ores to use t2 strips. Eventually you need RE5 though if you want to process the high end ore.

This website has always been a useful source to me.
How far you want to take your training really depends on a few factors:
What type of ore are you looking to refine? High-sec, low-sec, 0.0 ores? Do you use Mining Barges or Exhumers on a regular basis? Are you interested in getting 100% from refining modules and ships?
Essentially, if the majority of your refining is just with high-sec or low-sec ores and you also use a Mining Barge or Exhumer for mining, you can take advantage of the various Ore Processing skills for both refining AND using the mining crystals without getting your Refinery Efficiency all the way up to Level 5. With just Refinery at Level 5, Refinery Efficiency at Level 1 and the Ore Specialization at 4 (for T2 crystals) you have 100% efficiency (minus standing taxes). If T1 mining crystals are more your thing, you only need R.E. at Level 2 and the Ore Specialization at 3.
Unfortunately, if you're looking to get a perfect refine for anything other than high-sec and most low-sec ore, you will need to spend a good week and a half or so training Refinery Efficiency to level 5 to get Scrapmetal Processing which for most 50% NPC stations'll mean you only need that at Level 1.
As you may see from that website, anything over 100% just rounds off to 100%. Nice and easy...
