Why would you do such a thing? I see 350's on Rokhs and Megathrons on killboards daily but I can't for the life of me understand why you'd fit such a ******ed gun to your ship.
It's not like any ship has problems fitting a full rack of 425mms, and they're better in every single way except tracking which can be ignored at long range anyway. If you want an anti support battleship, fly a Pulse Apoc or a Raven or gtfo into a HAC or something.
What intrigues me even more is the fact that people who have the worthiness to fit T2 rails fit 350s to their ships, and then fit Spike which ruins the tracking anyway. If you say 350s use less capacitor, why use Spike which, in comparison to Lead which Rokhs normally use, spends more capacitor?
Any thoughts? __________________________

cpu use when combined with tank modules / range modules?
grid use when combined with 3 locus rigs? * Please use signatures that are EVE-related and do not discuss moderation - Fallout

On a rokh at least you still effortlessly reach sniping range with 350s and the dps/volley damage drop isn't enough to make much of a difference. It just frees up fitting for other stuff.

Probably for fitting space. Are they also fitting a really heavy tank?

3 locus rigs.. why, that sounds like you should use 425s, fit one locus rig and then use the other two for tank! Also, post locus nerf why would you fit 3? (And where is your tank?) __________________________

I can only speak for the Rokh, but the 350's can fit 4 damage mods in the lows while the 425's can only fit 3 damage mods because an extra one is needed for an RCU/PDS. With this in consideration, the damage output is almost identical (actually is even better with 350's). If you aren't going to be shooting at ultra long ranges, 350's are just fine. Even with maxed skills, the 8 425mm T2's alone will not fit without a boost to your powergrid; the 350's fit with plenty of powergrid to spare.

It's very difficult to fit 425's and make your ship DD or double DD proof at the same time.

Not on Rokh it isn't [Rokh, Fleet] Reactor Control Unit I Damage Control II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Invulnerability Field II Large Shield Extender II Invulnerability Field II Large Shield Extender II Sensor Booster II, Targeting Range 100MN MicroWarpdrive II

Core Defence Field Extender I Core Defence Field Extender I Core Defence Field Extender I
Doesn't tank only double EM DD with overheated invulns even alone, with fleet/ganglinks can probably tank that too _____________ I don't care what is nerfed, as long as it's not my "undock" button. |

If 350mm Rails will reach an appropriate range and have very similar DPS with 4 Mag stabs to 425s with 3 Mag Stabs then the primary advantages are likely to be tracking (which is nerfed by Spike but still needs to be considered), Clip size, ROF (which, because it effects the speed at which you can switch targets, effects how rapidly an over-alpha'd fleet can destroy another over-alpha'd fleet) and finally price (Because, if you're primary you're losing your ship, losing less money per fleet op means you can afford more fleet ops). --

350mm mega are not snipers but mid range RR ships usually. You can have the regular 5 slot RR tank on one, two MFS and you can engage from 20 to 100km... -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

You only really need to hit out far enough to hit as far as the other BS in your gangs. So if you can hit out that far with 350's (only the Rokh can do this) and make use of the spare grid for tank then go ahead. Cap usually isn't a problem in a sniper gang except shooting at POS's (in which case I'd rather use T1 non-faction lead but whatever).
