I am tired of arguing with you to be honest.
If a military force shot at an unarmed salvager stripping some wires from a pile of scrap, then that military force would be subject to judicial hearings or punnishment from a higher authority.

Salvage yourself in-mission. Go away from mission hubs. Fit ECCM and hope they go for easy targets.
It's adapt or die, not adapt or whine.
Criminal flagging would result these whiners like you being blown up. I wonder why resist these proposals?

I hate to say this but when salvaging first came out you were required to remove the loot before you were able to access the salvage.
CCP later changed it to the way it is handled now. That is you do not need to remove the loot before you can salvage.
However from your reaction, I am just calling you troll.
No goat for you. Back to the bridge you go

Have you considered salavaging the stuff before they do? or, if you think that salavage theft is so damm profitable, fast and safe, why don't you give it a go and learn their ways?
Do it for two weeks. You will learn at least 2 fool proof ways to stop them dead and another 4 that are effective in over 90% of all cases.
And then you might realise just how ridiculous these posts are, and you can come into the light.
Or even a week... you'll learn more in a week trying it, than you will in a hundred threads whining about it.

Originally by: crofoot No they have their mains probing and they send out 5 day old characters in kestrels(which can be trained in less than 24 hours including salvaging). And as far as being protected from them, it's not I that need the protection, they are the ones that have concord backing them, I am sitting in a 1/4 billion dollar hac watching a 200k ship on a trial account take my salvage. If they want to be fair put a timer on it. Make it stealing for the first hour or two then give them their hour to pillage. All will be happy and if it is going to waste the let em have it. Thats the way it should be. I agree salvaging is a great way of life and great income, but there should be a time period that gives the owner/killer time to salvage, if he/she/they don't come back it changes color and its free game.
Omg a logical fair compromise. Who would have thought. =)
Omg its not your salvage...
Salvage as you go and there is nothing for them to take...

... wow, a new level of stupid... the day you can boobytrap wrecks in eve, i guarante you, you can shoot them... unless concord takes them first...

With the current amount of whine threads it wouldn't surprise me if CCP makes salvaging a flaggable offense. Oh what a glorious day that would be

the most will continue salvaging then because no BS can really hurt a fast frig while giving them the opportunity to shoot back easily and get nice kills for free. I've tried to get aggro from a mission runner a whole evening once by looting stuff in order to gank him, that failed, no MR shot at me ever :(
Rather than making salvaging a flaggable offence, they should remove loot ownership from NPC wrecks, this would solve the whinage in the long term. Its ridiculous you get a legal ownership to pirated stuff like its implemented now.

i think the problem is to diffiranciate between type of cans, they'd have to make a spacial type of loot can, that did not fall under the flagging rule, and open it for tractoring, at the moment loot cans are jetcans and those are the only ones that can be tractored... that belong to you
but i think loot should still belong to the MR, it's complete modules, that you just put in your hold... wrecks are different, since they need a module activated on them, like rats and roids...
Think of wrecks the same way you do rat ships, its not yours, you need to activte something on it to extract the reward... someone can shoot a rat from under you, someone can slavage a wreck from under you, and someone can mine out a roid right under your nose, bad form, but legal... should we change all those mechanincs as well?
imagine pop-up when you try to mine a roid someone else is on? "This roid is being mined by Fluffy McCarebear, continue with your operation and you will be flagged by Concord!" come on... "This ship is being shoot at by Miss Fuzzybunny, you can not attack!" This seems as absurd to me as wreck ownership... remove the corp tag aswell and make them free for all to tractor i say, if they are empty...

Edited by: Robert Caldera on 02/09/2009 13:12:28 usually I dont care about missions and stuff but the problem is they cannot differentiate between loot and salvage. They think if a part is assigned to them (loot), they should get everything. Since the whine goes on and will never stop, I would rather remove the loot ownership entirely, forcing their lazy asses to leave heavily populated areas and run for their loot instead of just sitting fat asses on the granted stuff and whine-begging for more.

These QQ salvage threads create a lot of ninjas. People see all the carebear tears and want to join in the fun.
You two guys should read this guide. It will teach you everything you need to know.
