So far I have done 3 separate missions (losing 10 ships before giving up on the missions) where the enemy has small ships that suppress my ability to warp out and am destroyed by the much larger ships. I've used my Hyperion, but couldn't target and hit the smaller ships, I tried my catalyst where I could hit the smaller ships, but would get destroyed, much faster, by the larger ones.
I've tried installing a warp core stabilizer, but I get plopped into the middle of the enemy, and never have enough time to warp out before being destroyed.
It seems like a loose loose situation. Any suggestions??

Ask your fellow corporation members to help you. Missions are way more fun in groups anyway.
Other than that, improve your skills.
Other than that, I don't know, I trained mining skills and asteroids don't shoot back.

I've only used drones for mining. What drone would I use for attack drones and what skills should I train??

You're flying a Gallente _BATTLESHIP_ and you never ever used combat drones ?
And you don't even have a clue what skills to train, but you're running L4 missions ?

yeah, second post blew it's cover as a troll. first one was sorta good though.
but in the 1.1647 X 10^-9001 % chance that this is real, you train the scout drone operation skill.

Someone who comes onto the forums and claims that they lost over a billion in ships(10xHype+fittings) but don't know how to train up for combat drones or that they needed then to begin with.

Gee, I'm sorry all, but I'm not a hardcore player, I don't spend most of my day in front of my computer playing EVE until I can't distinguish between it and reality. I'm a casual player, nothing else and I'm sorry that I don't have the time to dedicate to EVE as most of you do. I ask a simple question, if y'all can't handle giving a little help, don't bother responding!

You tell them basement dwelling low lifes with spots and armpits full of wild life!
Anyway as probably said:
1. Spot which NPC's are doing it (maybe one or two frigates usually) by looking on the overview for the web icon next to the NPC's name.
2. Get aggro on them yourself (or your drones will get the aggro and you have to pull them in) They will flash when you aggro them, turn yellow when they fire.
3. Launch drones and attack..the NPC's will go down fast IF you have trained drones up to a decent standard. Drones improve massively by training the skills Atika listed.
4. Afterwards come back to the forums and tell everyone your leet and hardcore.
To add, many of us are casual, we just focus on reading about the game and testing things long before we get to the hard stuff.

Just get trained up to T2 medium scout drones, and have one hell of a tank.

u see the issue here is that by stating u have a Hyperion we assuming your running lvl 4s which means u SHOULD know this all by now, hardcore gamer or not
because u lack knowledge that the context suggest u SHOULD already have ppl yell troll
@the original question:
get ur self a beastly tank that can withstand all the ships hitting u long enough for the suggested drones to kill your enemies that are scrambling u
get T2 hobgoblins ASAP
as for a basic tank for a hyper i suggest:
1 X T2 LAR (large armor rep)
4 X T2 armor hardeners (two for the primary damage and two for the secondary, see eve survival as to what these are)
1 X T2 EANM (energized adaptive nano membrane)
and then fill the mids with T2 cap rechargers
if you cant fit most of that and have it work then u should seriously consider going back to lvl 3s until u can....if u get a mish that wont let BSes in then bring a Myrm or decline it (just keep an eye on that 4 hr counter)

I used that same theory once with a rokh. Yeah, nothing could penetrate my shields.....but.....it took me about a half hour to kill one BS with 7 more to go. NOT a very good trade off.
