Originally by: syphurous You're all n00bs, if you weren't you'd remeber the first few days of salvaging and how the mechanic was that you had to empty the wreck first that it of course flagged. My how the carebears whined, they were getting ganked left and right. The loosers who sit baiting in rookie systems were having a field day popping the n00bs who had just got their salvaging skill from the career agent.
You'd think that this would all die down, same as the jet can whine of years and years, oh you dont know about that ? Well thats another story for another time.
Why would Carbears be ganked if they are emptying their own wrecks?

Think I only ever had a visit from a salvage ninja once. Maybe twice.. But I had already decided that I didnt want to run missions in that overpopulated system anymore. Soon after they even moved the agent I was running missions for. If you want your stuff to yourself I suggest relocating to one of the quieter systems. There are plenty of those with good agents, even if they arent with your favorite corp. Also if you wish to claim something as yours, you should take steps to make it so. Hire a salvager and pay him with a split.. or leave it alone and move on to the next mission.
Main reasons why ninja salvaging is viable are: Plenty of mission runners in the same place, meaning you can find something to salvage in pretty much any direction. Its fairly simple and not really punishable in highsec. And making someone cry seems to be high on some peoples agendas.
