Y'know incognito mode doesn't offer any more protection than normal mode except for the lack of cookies and it's main use is for 'specific' browsing.
And what we are talking about isn't affected by Google Chrome or IE, you download a file. Chrome will protect you much more from browser attacks and sql injections, but this keyloggers stuff will still get through regardless of browser. ------------------------------------- Read my bio ingame for tips on how to live and not be called nasty names by me. |

Also, u can use Linux with wine. I don't think those keyloggers would execute in any OS except in Windows.

Wait... Wine. That is windows right, just a virtualization of it. Still affected by keyloggers and most viruses that a normal windows computer is.
Also using Linux or Mac is no excuse to still click on the damn links. If you click they notice the number of hits and will continue spamming, we need to stop clicking regardless to stop it.

But you don't use wine to browse the forum, you use wine just to execute EvE.

Is there a way to make your browser or AV/protection automaticly boycott the list that Chribba provided?
If so how do you do it for total braindead computer tards like myself?

Anti-Keylogger Software - any recommendations? A brain and some common sense. But yeah, you are obviously interested in my post because you're now reading my signature. |

Welp, Internet Exploder 7/8 has a "Restricted Sites" tab in Security settings, but going hog-wild with them and adding a bunch will slow response times down for both IE and others like Outlook.
So, possibly an addon/plugin someone has written or somehow use a third party firewall software to insert Chribba's list into may do the trick.

There is actually a nice easy simple way to block access to each and every one of the listed sites, add them to your hosts file pointing to 127.0.0.0 and you'll not be allowed to visit any of them as the page will not load, granted its actually a pretty pointless effort as if you have the list you know the sites you're not supposed to click on and there isn't really any way of forcing people to install the new hosts file, adding them to restricted sites also defeats the point as you already know you shouldn't visit those sites if you've bothered to download the list.

You should always have updated Internet security software running, but a lot of the stuff these keylogger spammers are using is too new for that software to catch so you also need to be really careful. Right now I'd recommend you don't go to any links posted in this forum except official EVE/CCP links and well known websites such as EVE-Files and similar.

You guys must be completely stupid. If you get keylogged, then too ****ing bad. It's your fault for being stupid enough to download one.
Want to know the best anti-keylogger? Your brain. Common sense. Use it, instead of using some crappy Anti-Virus that will decide to take over your computer and slow it down with it's unnecessary services and useless crap.

www.unhackme.com (If you are already infested, this is the way to go.)
www.glarysoft.com (Get the glarysoft utilities, while it ain't mainly for spyware, the 1-click maint will fix a lot of problems.
My favorite AV is avast! pro.

Im assuming the lack of spammer attacks are down to the new " 72 hour rule". and also "5 minute" rule.
Never rely on software to protect you from downloading garbage that hurts. - Only due diligence and common sense really works. Prevx I know is very good but blind clicking negates its effectiveness and the same can be said for most programs mentioned.
Its your own actions that allow this ( not aimed at op btw)
Remember no system is fool proof. Fools are cleverer than you think.

Software is useless without good self-supervision.
Though I do recommend NOD32.

Thanks, added unhackme and avast!
The www.glarysoft.com utilities seem realy interesting as general maintainance tools - as you say - but do not seem to contain anti-spy functionality besides the encryption.

Sophos is aimed at enterprise/small businesses, but is quite good, and is reflected in the price as its a little on the expensive side at ú152 for the small business, mid tier option.

Edited by: Cleron on 05/09/2009 12:36:49 Sandboxie, maybe keyscrambler. Sandboxie alone should do a good job of keeping you safe if you still use XP. Sadly it dose not work on Vista 64bit, though i think it still works on Vista 32 |

I have nothing better to do so I put all those sites in the list Chribba posted into a hosts file. hosts file. You can just copy and paste them into your hosts file. The path to the hosts file is C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc The file doesn't have an extension but it will open with notepad and you can add the information to it. Just right-click the file, click open, and then double-click on "notepad" in the window that comes up.
Thanks Chribba for the list and eve-files. |

Avira Antivir has a quite popular free version (with reduced functionality, like not working on Windows with corporate licenses, no scanning of network drives, no e-mail scan). Available from here: http://www.free-av.com/en/index.html
If you manage to get hold of a keylogger download in a secure way, try uploading it to http://www.virustotal.com/ to get an idea about the current antivirus coverage for that specific malware.
I've also seen ingame spam with URLs to fake EVE login sites. Be careful to check if you're actually on a correctly spelled eveonline.com (or eve-online.com) site before entering your login info.
