This is an addendum to the official rules.
*Once teams have entered the arena but before the match begins, the host will drop a mobile warp disruptor 5km from the centre of the arena and anchor it. This warp disruptor will prevent all warping within 130,000km of it, covering more than the radius of the arena. The disruptor will be deactivated once the match ends.
As you all know, a mobile disruptor cannot be dropped within 5km of a large collidable object, beacon, or such. This is obviously not an ideal solution, having an object not in the dead centre of the arena, but the warp disruption effect is something that we feel is worth this slight inconvenience and as such will be used.

In future tournaments I would like to see this combined with the elimination of the rule:
8. Warping within the arena is NOT allowed.
Could make for some interesting strategies involving t3 ships.

Yeah, because you guys couldn't just make a special version of the HIC's warp disruption field module that doesn't get turned off by a cloak when repeating.

I understand that you want to have as awesome a match as you can, but making something like warping within the arena is allowed but warping out is prohibited, is just not feasible, and I think the same is true of combining a cloak/HIC-style-warp-bubble. Both these mechanics are coded in a specific fashion; adding in exceptions to them, for particular circumstances, that are encountered upto twice a year seems almost pointless.
As an example; adding in cross arena warping would pose several problems that we would have to find solutions for. 1. camera ships maintaining locks during warps 2. warp spheres not stopping you from warping on-grid, only disallowing off-grid warps 3. if combined with cloaking/HIC-style-sphere would require modules to not turn off when cloak is activated
It seems excessive and redundant when the alternatives we use already exist.

No, warping is still disallowed by the rules.

You can't GM a bubble within 5km of an object/beacon? Just having it in the center should be good enough.

if... lets say the originator told a ccp employee during alliance tournament V that a warp-bubble placed in the arena to avoid unnecessary ship-destruction with connection losses would make a pilots life much easier I guess this person could have made another forum post as well about it when tournament VII was announced. But this particular person maybe could still not benefit alot from fellatio in this particular case since island is probably very far away and there could be a possibility that this person is currently not allowed to leave his or her`s country or if he or she could, his or her`s girlfriend could make a big fuss about leaving the country for getting foreign fellacio as reward for enhancing game mechanics :-) but i guess the originator would be very flatterd that a ccp employee is willing to reward good ideas in such a personal way ;-)
